Hi, it should be a standard USB printer cable.
It has a squarish plug on one end (goes into printer) and it should have a USB plug on the other end which goes into your computer or laptop.

I changed the ink in my iP4000, something I've

The scenario is caused by either incompatibility of cartridge or dirty electronic panel of cartridge or the contact area of the electronic panel inside the machine. So you should clean the electronic panel of the cartridge and its contact area inside the printer. To clean use folded tissue soaked in a bit of methylated spirit. If this doesn't do it, it means the cartridge is somehow incompatible and you will have to get another.

Good luck & God bless!

I think I put in a wrong colored toner cartridge.

The make and type of cartridge is generally given in the users handbook/manual provided with the printer. If you do not have that ,you can log on to Canon web site and then go to support. Select your printer model and you can find the the specification of cartridge to be used with your printer. The list of the cartridges is given below: BCI-3eBk Black ink tank, BCI-6Bk Black ink tank, BCI-6C Cyan ink tank, BCI-6M Magenta ink tank, BCI-6Y Yellow ink tank You can also go the this link and download the manual if you do not have the same http://www.usa.canon.com/cusa/support/consumer/printers_multifunction/pixma_ip_series/pixma_ip4000#Overview

I want to change the size of the printed letters,

you will need to change the font size in the program in which you are trying to print from. If it is in Word or something similar go to the top and you will see font size, change it to the desired size. If it is from a web page that you are trying to print from you will need to go into your internet page and you will see the choices at the top that say page, safety, tools... etc. Click on Page and go down to text size and change the size of your text here. You can always change it back by reversing the steps above.

Well every advice is the same except a little altered (use a warm cotton swab to clean inside machine and on print head channels) but then it says if possible replace print head but honestly this has become a primitive Machine for turning humans into corpses - buy a new one.
