There is no power supply on my cannon scanner
There is fuse, but in the Power supply board. Check if LEDs are blinking in the back PCB and on the right side. Do a basic check also, check if the power cable is good. many times we assume that is perfect, but not necessarily.

Canon DR5020 E21 error
Canon Scanners are reliable. Canon has chosen error codes logically, 'P' os Paper related, 'C' os cover related, 'E' is Engineering Support related.
E21 is Document Motor Trouble. E2 is Separation Motor Trouble. Check of connection and load or you may to replace motor. Try connecting the motor to a different location and if the error is same, probably there is no motor fault, if it changes then it definitely motor fault. As a last thing you may need to change the PCB on the side.

Canon Dr-5020 grabbing multiple pages
Wipe the rollers with a damp cloth thoroughly. Remove all the dust in the glass for a claen scan. The red color roller roller in the bottom needs thorough cleaning, rotate with hand gently (in power-off mode) and clean it thorughly. No solvents pls, except Isopropyl alcohol for cleaning

Inage quality DR 5020
If the line is disappearing with a lower contrast, then it is definitely scaratch/glue/dust on the glass. Clean with Isopropyl alcohol. Dont use solvents.

The front paper tray that lifts the page to scan
On the right side of the scanner there is a motor just behind the small bulge in the cabinet. The motor lifts the paper tray through a bevel gear. Incase the palstic gear is damaged, it maynot lift the tray. U may need to change the gear.
Even if the tray is overloaded, the tray will not lift.

Help
How 'crisp' is the line? IF it is same thickness even at different contrast levels, then it is likely the scan module is affected. If the thickness varies, or has jagged ends, then it is dust on the glass or a scratch of may be a dust particle sitting on the scan module. This has to be cleaned.

You need to enter in service mode and set brightness, I see if I can find the procedure.
Hi, i have a Canon dr 9050c scanner. I have the
It sounds like you diagnosed it.
The tray "paper detect sensor" thinks it has paper in it, and if it doesn't have paper in it...there's a problem with the sensor.
Take the tray off and inspect the sensor. Blow out around the sensor and it's PCB and make sure it is not out of position. Check the sensor lens for anything blocking it, and retest. If it still shows always on, then replace the sensor. Press the "count only" button to illuminate it, and press the "start" button. If the scanner works properly (tray lifts, pulls paper through the scanner, and counts it)...well then you have software or connectivity issue.
Hope that helps,

Does error P07 on a Canon DR-G1100 indicate that there is a paper jam or that a counter needs to be reset?
P007 indicates that a document has jammed before exiting the registration post sensor. Make sure the path is clear and no staples are stuck in the rollers. I like to use a microfiber cloth, with a small amount of 50/50 alcohol on it, to wipe down the entire feed path; top and bottom. The microfiber cloth will grab staples that may be wedged between the rollers/roller openings. Beyond that, it could be a timing issue from a bad/loose drive belt. Actually, there are quite a few things that could cause a paper jam before exiting the post registration sensor. Wipe it down and let me know.

Hello, i have a Problem with my Canon dr 9050c. If
There are a set of gears that convert motor rotation into lifting of the tray. Check if the gears are aligned properly. Any stapler pin jammed inside can stop the gear, while the motor pushes it forward. This will create noise. Very unlikely that these motors fail. Also clean the paper sensor in the tray.
