CANON DR-9080C TRAY MOTOR BUZZES THEN I GET AN ERROR THAT SAYS NO PAPER FOUND.CLEANDED THE SENSOR WINDOW, CHECKED ALL THE CONNECTIONS BUT STILL NOT FIXED.
Hi Marc,
***Make sure that you plugged the cable that comes from the camera detect PCB (sensor) into the document board assy (metal part under the plastic tray).*** You said you checked all the connections, but I would recheck them, and trace them all the way through the metal lift mechanism...the cabling has junctions that run through the metal box all the way across to the right side of the machine and plug into the 10Sub PCB. You will have to remove the metal lift mechanism and unplug to cables from the 10Sub PCB. You will also have to separate the upper and lower parts of the metal box. You might as well clean the metal box out, check the plastic gears, make sure the motor is plugged in, and regrease the plastic gears if they look like they need it. Check the wiring for crimps or breaks too. When you reassemble the box, make sure that the black "U" shaped photo interrupter doesn't get knocked out of place. If everything still looks ok, I would replace the sensor and retest. The buzzing noise from the lift tray may or may not be related. There is a stepping motor in the lift tray assy that could have a problem. Order them both, they are pretty cheap.
Hope that helps...let me know
Will not feed 11x17
You probably need to set the user settings to "long doc" mode.
1) When the machine is in the standby state,
press the NEW FILE key and Count Only key
simultaneously. During the user mode, the
LEDs of the NEW FILE key and Count Only
key illuminate and the address (U01-U10)
and data (the last digit) appear on the
counter display.
2) When changing the address, use the NEW
FILE key. Each time NEW FILE is pressed,
the address changes, cycling from U01 to
U10.
3) When changing the data, use the Count Only
key. Each time Count Only is pressed, the
data changes.
4) Pressing the Stop key exits the user mode.
Long document mode =U10; 0=normal and 1=long document mode.
Happy Scanning!

Canon dr9080c wont scan to the guide plate width
Remove the paper tray, remove the cables carefully. If you turn tray upside down, you will notice screws, remove them carefully. clean the 'golden finger' and ensure there are no staple pins. (Staple pins alter the circuitry). The gear wheel and the paper guide must be placed correctly so that it moves freely.

Canon DR9080c - getting error code P00 which means
This is a common problem in 9080C. When the top cover is closed, the sensor sends light and it is reflected thro the black cover in the bottom. Then the scanner assumes the cover is closed. Any obstruction is treated as P00 error. You will notice three small oval & round shaped clear plastic. Clean them with a brush and ensure the edges are clean. Light goes thru one side and come thro the other, which is sensed by the unit placed in the top cover.

Did you receive any paperwork with your purchase? The answer may be in the booklet that came with your machine. Hope that helps.
Scanner won't pull paper in - belt problem
Are you sure the belt is off?
To remove the side covers you need to remove the back cover, then the top cover. You will notice a small 'catch' on both sides of the side cover. You need to release to open the sides.
