Canon DR-9080C Path-Through Scanner - Page 7 Questions & Answers
Scanner is not taking the
Please explain the problem more clearly.
Switch on the scanner, load some papers and try 'page count'. If it works, then there is no problem with tray lifting or paper movement. If this is not working, try 'Qumatool' and give a command to lift the paper tray. If it lifts, then the problem is with a sensor under the paper lifting tray. (It may not be in HP - Home position). If the tray is not lifting, then you may have problem with motor.

Paper tray at front of scanner will not lift.
Disconnect the scanner from the Comp, Try 'page counting'. If the papers go through, then you know feed mechanism is okay. if the tray is not lifting, then you have a problem. Use Qumatool software and check if the tray is lifting. If the scanner tray if lifting then the motor is okay, if not, the lifting motor may need a check. If the motor is okay, but tray not lifting means the sensor in the paper tray is faulty. Check this out.

Canon DR-9080c scanner not lifting error no page found in feeder
There is a paper sensor just under the rolers in the lifting tray. Clean the area thoroughly with a damp cloth. Keep some sheets and try ]count only'. If it works then the sensor is okay, then you can try your scanning. If it is not sensing paper, check the sensor or connections to the sensor.

IT WILL SCAN FAST AFTER 10 PAGES IT WILL RUN SLOW
Your disk must be full or you need to do a 'defrag' on the volume where you are storing the data. Initially it is stored in the buffer and when the disk writing is slow, scanning speed is affected. Clean the disk for faster scanning.

Canon DR-9080c, puts complete black image on
Your scanner has gone bad. These scanner units have a rows of LED's to light up the document when scanning. When the scanner goes bad they stop coming on which results in a black page being scanned. It is not always necessary for the LED's to stop coming on, but that is the most common failure. The last one of these I did the repair was nearly $900 as the scanner units from Canon are not cheap at around $600 to $700.
Rest assured tho that there is no other work around for this problem. You are going to have to either have the scanner assembly replaced or replace the whole machine with a new one.
Sorry for the bad news.
Canon 9080c scanner; computer does not recognize
First try this: change the usb cable, try another USB port on the computer and if it does not recognize any, you have changed a logic board.
May have to check if start equipment, add sheets to be scanned and press the green button it will scan? (not connected to the computer) if so, sensors and engine works.

Canon 9080C not scanning 11x17 pages
The problem is probably in your scanning software, you have to tell it if you want to scan legal size, and if you leave it set for legal all the time it might put dark bars under the letter size docs. It depends on the version of software on your computer.
When I turn on a scanner it displays error
E34 refers to abnormalities in the Shading Solenoid Connection.(Lower side). If you open the scanner top cover and press the 'start' button, you will see two white strips (plastic) coming out. If it does not come out there is a problem. (This is used for Color balancing). Check if the connection to this are perfect. You may need to remove the plastic cover near ****** roller (The one which is in the bottom). Ensure that the plastic is not damaged.

9080c fails to scan single page; has trouble scanning a batch.
Hi
what size page are you trying to scan, if they are smaller than the gap between the transport rollers, they will not feed.
the single sheet problem you have:- the scanner knows when there is paper to feed when the sensor is pushed up beside the pick roller and it will put the tray down again when the rollers are pushed up. sometimes the little plastic sensor to the left of the roller gets a bit stuck and needs to be freed, it wares itself out where it hinges inside the cover around the pick roller. just unclipping it and cleaning it is usually enough.
good luck.
