Hello, I am having a couple

Either the driver file is corrupted of the OS is corrupted. Re install the OS and install an good antivirus also. Load the driver and install Capture Perfect 3. Check if your USB cable also, it does not cost much to replace it.
You need to clean the scanner every morning with a well wrung wet cloth, especially rollers, glass surface and paper tray. If the paper sensor is dirty the scanner will assume there is paper!
Check you CP3 settings, are you controlling the scanner from the Comp or from the Front Panel?

Color scan files will be huge and it will take quite a time to process. Ensure that there is enough disk space in the computer to speed up the scanning.

A document was skewed. Please

There are sensors at various locations inside the scanner. If a document is skewed slightly, the scanning software can deskew the image. If skewed too much the scanner would ask you to rescan. The scanner senses the document thro a set of sensors. Ensure that the scanner is clean and that no bits of shredded paper is blocking the sensors.

You need to change the glass! It is not easily available in the market. Ensure that the electronics, particularly the LED module is not disturbed. While removing the glass, you need to keep the module 'glass-up' and unscrew the side catch, gently replace the glass and refix it.

When I'm scanning a document

Under CapturePerfect3, you can choose to deskew the scanned image while scanning itself. Also select 'Image only" radio button instead of 'Guide Plate'. The software will remove black borders around the image.

We have a Canon DR-9080C

The Canon DR 9080C is a 'contact' scanner. There is no optical lens, instead it uses a technology called "Contact Image Sensor' or CIS. The page to be scanned must be close to the glass for a proper image. This is achieved by a full-length rubber roller just above/below the scanning module. The roller is spring loaded and in case it gets stuck, there wont be enough pressure on the document to keep it close to the glass. ensure these rollers are moving smoothly and if required clean them. The rollers are on the opposite of the Scanning module.

I have a canon DR-9080c that gives me a PAFCV2.DLL load error

I have resolved this in the past and a new user just brought it up again.

The pafcv2.dll in Captureperfect 2 does not seem to work. If you install CapturePerfect 3 and copy the pafcv2.dll into captureperfect (c:\program files\canon electronics\captureperfect2 or whatever install path you used), you will find that you can now scan into PDF, even in batches!

Unknown error. Canon DR-2050C/2080C Driver

I have many years repairing Canon scanners so I hope my suggestion helps you out.

In my experience with the problem your having I have found that the bios needs to be flashed on the particular model scanner you have. You will need to contact your local canon dealer to have this done because they have diagnostic software to do this with. Also they can run the diagnostic software to tell if there are any other issues that need to be addressed on your scanner while they are there.

I hope this helps you out if not let me know.

Canon parts like the lens your looking for are captive parts through a canon dealer. My one suggestion to you is try Ebay. Sometimes you can run across someone on there that is stripping down a scanner and is more than happy to sell you the part you need. If you need any other help let me know. And I hope my advice helps you out.

When I scan a stack of papers the scanner pulls

If the rollers are worn out or dirty this can happen. Clean them if dirty or replace them if worn out. Dont use any solvent to clean them. The '******' roller prevents taking up of two or more pages, this needs proper cleaning.
Please 'fan' the documents so that they are not stuck to each other. With stapled documents, even after removing staples, the pages are held together at the place where the staple was present. Role the sheets and ensure they are separated.

P002

The error reported should be 'P02' and not 'P002' This means that the length of the paper is more than the size selected. For example if you scan legal sheet after selecting A4, you will get this error. Select Autosize (with CapturPerfect ver 3) or select 'Scanner Maximum' and remove black background. You can also select a specific size with 9080C.
