Could be a problem with your LAN card or interfering software, if others accessing your network are OK. (Test first). If others are experiencing the same, reset your router and contact your provider, if necessary.

Try these suggestions ... perform the next if each does not work:

Move your laptop next to the router to see if distance is a problem.

Connect your laptop to the router with an Ethernet cable to see if the wireless function is not working.

If you have an anti-virus software package installed, disable for testing purposes.

If you have installed / updated your computer and now Internet doesn't work (worked previously), remove or uninstall.

Go to Device Manager, find your LAN card and update the driver.

Go to Device Manager, delete the LAN card, reboot your laptop.

All you can do is to leave the battery out for a few days or longer. It will completely drain and then you can try charging it back up again. Im suspecting that the battery is starting to go bad anyway but at least this way you can verify this. If it still doesn't charge completely then the battery needs to be replaced.

Click Start...Settings...Control Panel.
Double click on Network Connections.You will be able to see a list of network connections. Right click and hit properties.
You should see a listing of installed Clients and protocols.
Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) is installed by default and may be there already. Make sure that the box is checked.

Sounds like the data cable that runs from the motherboard up the left back side of the lcd panel has gotten loose from it's socket or the cable is damaged and the pressure applied to it is momentarily completeing the connection. The laptop needs to be stripped down to these components and they need to be re-seated in their respective sockets. Also, make sure it isn't the graphics chip by attaching an external monitor via vga cable to check the video output from the chip.

From your explanation, i see that the computer looses its power when you try to shift its position and if you try power it up using cable.

Well as from the symptoms, it makes clear that there is some loose connection at the point where the power cable is to be connected and this point is called the power jack, which is used to connect the power cable to the PC and since it is having a problem when there is any vibration caused by displacement or while connecting the power cable the power might get jittery and terminated to the PC.

Solution:

So in this case you have to check the cicuitry robustness and check if the cable is flawless and check if any burnt components in the power circuit
and check if the battery is intact.

Who done the repair? Thats not the easiest job to do considering what you have to break down to get to that cornor of the board. If a shop done it you should be able to take it back and you already know the answer to your question about static. If the job was done sloppy and the sodder got to a part of the power grid on the board there would be your issue. If the sodder got where it wasnt supposed to be your looking at a dead shorted board. I charge about a hundred to do that job although the part is only $2-$3 dollars the time it takes to do it right is about 2 to 3 hours. If you done the job yourself this will be an expensive lesson of why you buy a $5 static band when breaking down a laptop or any static sensitive device. Honestly although the damage may be done and your feeling frisky BUY the wristband tear it down again look at your sodder job you may get lucky......Best of luck hope you get it going

set the bios/cmos to boot first of your CD drive. get your support discs and restore to original. your hard drive OS has failed and needs to be re-installed. the problem maybe is that when you do that option you will get all your data erased. your solution to that since you can still get the data on the drive when used as external is to back it up. then full restore your system.

if you dont have your restore kit, you can use your Windows OS to fix it, repair option when you boot from CD.

Check Device Manager to see if the Audio device is working and enabled, if not install the latest audio driver.

It is usually on the right front corner, just below the edge of the cover/screen. Look at the laptop from the front, and follow the edge all the way to the right. yup probably the power cord. try replacing a new one if you have or try borrow from your friend just to test if the problem is really in the power cord

Hold F8 at boot to get into safe mode. From there you should be able to fix your display settings, or just remove the monitor in the device manager, and reboot. If you remove the monitor from the devices, windoze will detect and configure it on boot
