Baumatic 23 in. BDW13 Built-in Dishwasher - Page 5 Questions & Answers
BDW13 Element has broken. How do I replace as it's built in
Hi This is a design fault on the Beaumatic dishwasher - it has corroded four times on mine (a built in one) and we have had to have it replaced each time. They only seem to last about 2 years before they go. Although I had two corrode in one year! There isn't a lot you can do with it but I am thinking about replacing it this time for a dishwasher with a concealed element. The Beaumatic Engineer told me it was a common fault with them and to try and keep it wiped dry when not in use!
Dishwasher
sounds like the pump is shot, the noise could be the bearings in the casing grinding, pull it out and get you either a new pump or a new dishwasher just a little diffrence in the price
Error mesage E4
E4 commonly means an overflow detected in the bottom over flow tray - try removing the kick board from the front of the machine - you should see 2 plastic black panels about 4 inches wide each, using a flat edged screwdriver pop the panels off and you will see the mechanics of the machine - the base is classed as the over flow tray - when water fills this tray a polystyrene float is pushed up and an E4 error code is detected - tilt the dishwasher back and allow the machine to dry out before trying it again - this should work unless the water seal around the filter basket is broken - in this case an engineer should be called to replace this part. Hope this Helps.
Thanks

Baumatic BDW13 14 dishwasher SHowing E3 Fault
I had the same problem and changed the
two thermostats on the base and got it working. You can get them from
partmasters.co.uk (thermostat protector) cost 17.99. They just screw in
and are dead easy to fit
I need to reset my dishwasher but don't know how!!
If it's any help then here is the link to the user manual (when you download it it applies to bdw13 as well even though it is labelled for the bdw14)
http://www.baumatic.co.uk/products/discontinued-models/dishwashers/integrateddishwashers/BDW14
Best I could come up with is to try page 19 at the bottom of the "dishwasher doesn't run" section - there are two different types of reset which may do the job.
Hope this helps :)
E4 shows up when i turn on my dishwasher
E4 is an overfill code caused by water pressure problem.
On the base of the unit - (underneath the kitchen plinth) there are 2
black plastic clip panels - each these of with a blunt knife or screw
driver and turn off the appliance at the mains. In there you will see
lots of wiring etc. Simply get a dish cloth and mop up any water that is
in there, particularly at the back left as that is where the sensor
that detects the over flow is. Its simply a rubber valve that is boyent
and so lifts when water is present. then once most of the water is
removed, turn on.The problem would be solved.
TO PREVENT THIS HAPPENING - when you take off the kitchen plinth you
will see 2 small clear pipes in the centre - between the 2 plastic
panels. These are cable tied. Simple cut the cable tie and feed the
pipes out of the dishwasher - place a bowl under tehre if you whish.
This will prevent overfloww water enterin the base. BE WARNED BY DOING
THIS THE DISHWASHER WILL NOT HAVE ANY OVERFLOW PROTECTION CAUSING
POSSIBLE DAMAGE TO KITCHEN AND APPLIANCE. My advice would be to leave
it in place but try to prevent overflow - i.e rinse plates first or try
a different brand of wash tablets. If it does happen then the fix is
simple and you definately do not have to remove the unit as many people
imply.
Baumatic BDW13
e4 code means the machine is showing a fault code for overfill, tip the machinee to a 45 degree angle and get excess water out should run ok after that
E4 message
take of the btwo black panels at the bottom of the dishwasher and put in a towel to soak up thje excess water this works for me everytime
Beumatic
OK - sorted it finally!
If you, like me, had actually added water thinking that this would rinse the machine through... doh! you had inadvertantly made water fill the cavity at the bottom of the maching. This is situated behind the kick-board. There are 2 black plastic panels - if you remove these, (they just pop out) and sponge out the water that is activating the dip switch (there is a polystirene float) that activates the pump - this resolves the E4 error code.
Make sure you do it while the machine is off! The reason the base of the machine has filled with water may need further investigation, but mine was most definitely user error. Who'd of thought adding water to a dishwasher could have been so fatal! It nearly cost me £88 call out charge too after the helpline weren't able to help me.
E4 error message
take off two black covers on bottom front of machine and mop up or soak up any water you feel or see at very bottom of machine by a polystyrene float this will fix it
Not Releasing Tablet
Check if while loading dishes' you didn't blocked the detergent cup.
Good luck!
