It may be sticking due to hard water deposits.

heat sensor malfunction. Located near the heater element on the under side will be a thermostat. Its ******* to the tub and its usually at the back. That's the temperature sensor you need to check. If you have a multi meter you can test for continuity through it and if its faulty then it will need to be replaced.
