Trying to install a Creative X-FI Xtreme PCI card

Windows should recognize it and ask you to intall a driver for it. Make sure it is secure in the slot and make sure you are using the correct slot. If it still does not recognize it then the card is most likely bad.

Hi i lost sound on everythink but windows meadia

Since Media Player is working, you are in pretty good shape....

Double click the speaker icon on the bottom right and you should get your Creative Mixer. If it does not pop up, find it in the control panel and open it.

If any MUTE boxes are checked, uncheck them. Adjust the volume sliders up for each device you want to be able to hear (example: CD player) and you will be good to go!

Unless you are actually using the microphone input, it is good practice to leave it muted.

Hi ! I have sound blaster audigy 2 paltinum ex. Im

if your computer came with a motherboard disc the sound drivers could be on it you might have to uninstall then restart your computer then reinstall both the sound drivers and the sound card make sure you have both of these devices backed up to a disc before uninstalling a yellow? question mark means you need to install/update driver to do this right click to install driver also click start control panel administrive tools computer management device manager scroll to sound, video and game controllers you might see a yellow question mark? Right click to reinstall drivers click start control panel sounds and audio, volume, advanced, speakers make sure you have selected the (((appropriate speakers))) also audio you will find 3 drop down lists make sure you have the correct settings there also click start control panel sounds and audio devices you can adjust the volume there also select speaker volume you can change your settings there you can also tick in the box place icon in taskbar if his does not fix the problem

have you tried this control panel sounds and audio, volume, advanced, speakers select the appropriate speakers from the drop down list or navigate to the device manager scroll to system devices + to expand, system speaker right click properties then select use this device (enable) also you might check the speakers plug/outlet is usually at the back of the computer you will have to open up the computer to check the lead attached to the rear of the input plug make sure the connection is good try cleaning your computer of dust using a fine air blower from a compressor making VERY sure that there is no MOISTURE in the air line specifically around the sound card and the CPU central processing unit dust causes static to build up in a computer hope this helps don

I have hooked up my Stereo Receiver to my PC. All

try swapping the speakers around if the problem still persists either the speaker is faulty or the speakers plug/outlet is usually at the back of the computer you will have to open up the computer to check the lead attached to the rear of the input plug make sure the connection is good or you might have to clean the dust from your computer dust causes static which causes your computer to overheat and all sorts of problems be sure to wear an anti static earth strap before touching anything inside your computer

have you tried this control panel sounds and audio, volume, advanced, speakers select the appropriate speakers from the drop down list or click start control panel administrive tools computer management device manager scroll to system devices + to expand, system speaker right click properties then select use this device (enable) try cleaning your computer of dust using a fine air blower from a compressor making VERY sure that there is no MOISTURE in the air line specifically around the CPU central processing unit and your sound card dust causes static to build up in a computer causing it to overheat any many other problems hope this helps

HI i got the problem, probably with my sound card

I did some research for this driver most of the drivers these days require a paid software tool that does the upgrade for you making it more difficult to find the drivers you need. If you click here you can get the driver you need free scroll down a bit and look for the .exe file. Click Here to get the driver file. Save this file for future use. I hope this assisted you. John

I've a creative sound blaster

Does the distortion go away after that second. If so it may be the settings set them all to default. Also check the speaker adapter make sure this is plugged in tight and not near any cell phones or cordless items or receivers that my be causing a slight interference.
If it clears up and works do not worry about it. Could be the ground or simple connection. Sounds like a interference to me if it only does it for a second. Have to guess on this one just like you are doing. If it works do not fix it. Great question its a thinker that is for sure. John
