The main terminal in the centre, which is labelled dell is the 5 way navigation button. And the small button which is to the immediate left of the navigation button is the four application button. and to the bottom right is the audio speaker. The button which is on the top of the device is the back-lit power button. Its charge status will be displayed.And now coming to the backside, above the battery slot cover is the main battery lock. Slide and hold the lock to unlock the position and remove the battery using the stylus. Stylus is located towards the side of the device. It can be used to go to the location where you want to go or you can type or write notes. now, on the other side( the side opposite to which stylus is present) secure digital card slot, scroll dial, voice record button and reset button are present. I had the same problem and I got it to work by placing a paper just above the Dell button and the touch screen. There seem to be some part of the metal cover that shorts out the touch screen and causes that problem. Some other people have recomended taking the unit apart and placing electrical tape in that area. Hope this works for you. Good luck.

take a credit card or bisiness card and slide it in between the edges of the screen gently this should fix the problem if not open it and clean the touchscreen contacts

ok, i see your problem.You could clean the screen of your pda using a business card. Gently, wipe the corners of the screen. This is the best way as unresponsive screens occur due to lack of attention as dust migt be trapped under the screen.Hope this works.GOOD LUCK

you can't remove the program

Unfortunately what you describe is a standard fault on x5's that have been well used and can be caused by one of 3 problems. I will list them in order of ease of correction

1) Their could be a screen protector that is causing a problem, remove the protector and try again.

2) Their could be dirt between the case and the screen, remove this by using a business card to push between the screen and case, run this arround the screen to remove dirt.

3) The most likley. After some use, the mail button will have rubbed away the coating on the cable between the motherboard and screen, shorting out touchscreen and giving exactly the problem you describe.

Test this theory by squeezing together the sides of the axim VERY Hard and whilst doing so, try screen align, it will work unil you release the sides.

If you can, you may wish to return the x5 to where you purchased, if not, you solve the problem by opening the axim, taking out the motherboard/screen assembly and putting some insulation tape on the cable to stop the problem.

If all doesn't work, then you are having a digitizer problem.

well a memory card has nothing to do with it, maybe your battery isnt working, or you just need to consult dell

you have deleted or misplaced the codecs for these videos. you will have to either reinstate the codecs or you can use other applications like coreplayer for playing the video

CR2032 battery. Backup your information first.

I had the same problem. I could solve this playing with the parameter on the power or screen setting.
i think i choose auto while connected. sorry i cant give more details it happened a while ago and i dont have the pda.

have u tried removing the battery for 5 min's this is called a cold reboot, there is a good chance it will clear the problem. You can also email Dell support, the service is free.
