My Dell 3100cn printer keeps asking me to "Load Tray 1 Letter Plain 1".
There is already letter sized paper in Tray 1.
It will allow me to cancel the job, but as soon I try to print another document, I get the same message again.
I checked the paper guards and everything seems to be lined up appropriately.
Please, Any Suggestions??
I had to actually change the settings in Microsoft Word to resolve this problem.
If you go to page setup > paper source > there should be lists for "first page" and "other pages".
You can set this to "as per printer settings" and hopefully it should work.

I have a Dell 3100cn with a error code 004-332. It says to restart printer. I tried to replace the drum eventhough it didn't request for one.
Dell 3100 cn
Error Code 004-332 problem
I tried this solution but wasn't quite sure how it's possible.
"Pull out the drum. Open the front door. Then close back this door then at the same time, move
the carousel around back or forth. The carousel now is able to be free to rotate. During rotating
you try to pull out the catridge. If it is locked, then adjust it to the position to be free."
Instead i pulled out the drum unit and pushed down with a bit of force on the toner carousel. I heard the gears grind which didn't sound real pleasant but the error went away. Instead I received an error message this time to remove and reseat the Cyan toner. Tried this multiple times w/o luck so i replaced the Cyan toner and it freed it up. Now I'm getting a paper jam message but there is no jam. Stuck again but making progress...

WHAT IS THIS ERROR MESSAGE - CONTINOUSLY ASKS TO LOAD TRAY 1
CHECKED TRAY IS PUSHED IN
You should check the page setup of the original document. If this is not set to match the paper in the feed then it wont accept it.
I was at this for a while, messing with printer settings and a fair amount of foul language before it clicked....My word document was in letter format. Once I changed this it all worked like a charm!

my printer is flashing load MPF 024-969 PLEASE HELP.
I had the dreaded 024-969 and was just able to print a test page.
I removed paper and reached inside the MPF. There's a spring-loaded lever facing upward, toward the back of the tray that the paper rests on and depresses. I toggled this up and down a dozen times.
I vacuumed out the entire tray area and then blew air into the same area by reversing the shop vac hose connection to the output hole.
Printer now prints.

Printer keeps giving me erroe of 010-397
Can you help?
We had the same problem. I loosened the levers that hold the fuser in place, and the one on the left side (as you face the printer) came out. When I put it back in, it didn't click into place all the way and the error message came up. I pushed down slightly on the fuser, then pushed the lever toward the back of the unit about as hard as I dared until it clicked back into place. That locked the fuser into place properly and resolved the problem.

PRINT PREVIEW SHOWS ENTIRE DOCUMENT - WHEN PRINTING, IT CUTS OFF A FEW LETTERS DOWN THE ENTIRE RIGHT SIDE OF THE PAPER.
First, on your computer desktop. left click on START. Next, left click on CONTROL PANEL, and left click on PRINTERS. Find your printer on the PRINTERS window, and RIGHT CLICK on the icon. From the drop-down menu, left click on PRINTING PREFERENCES. Use the settings to set up the printer for the paper size and orientation you want to use.Click APPLY , then OK buttons to apply any changes you make. If that does not help, check the side paper guides in the paper source you are using. If they are not against the paper on both sides, the paper will not align properly with the image. Move the guides snug but not tight against the paper. If the guides are too tight, paper may not feed. If moving the guides does not solve the problem, try loosening the guides and reposition the paper until the image is properly aligned. Then see in your owners manual if there is an adjustment called SIDE-TO-SIDE REGISTRATION, and follow the proceedure to adjust the side-to side paper alignment.

I got the same error evry time i start the printer
YES! It Worked. Man I love it when things like this work out! Thanks Gnolgnol!
Let me just elaborate however:
The "belt" is the 8 1/2" wide black rubber piece wrapped around the drums located at the back top section just near the 4 black arrows and "no hands" warning picture. I was too lazy to unscrew it to fix it so I simply used much force with the palm of my hand and rolled and pushed up and over in the direction it needed to be adjusted several times. The belt will overlap on both sides about 1/8" on both sides so make sure you go past the drum a bit to even it out on both sides.

There is paper in both trays. Have tried restarting, unplugging, pulling out the bottom tray and printing to the MPF tray only and then vice versa printing to the A4/Tray 1 and nothing works.
