I have seen that in most of the cases (with lexmark and dell printers)
it is fixed by reinstalling the printer software. Be sure that you
completely remove the older drivers using the cd or using add/remove
programs.
Dell 720 Printer failure
it may not really be the lever it may just need some lube. if you use some vasline and rub it on the bar and then move the printer head up and down put more vasline until the head moves slwly then try printing this may work.

Dell 703w will not print
There are two things that might be the problem. The print head is dirty or thenew ink cartridges are not the same brand/type of ink you used before.
If the print head is dirty some of the ink doesn;t get spray ed out so the colour and sharpness are off. This is typical of any inkjet and usually occurs if you don't print all the time. What happens is you print something and then come back a week later and it won't print properly. the ink from the previous print job has dried and covers some of the print head. The printer does a clean cycle when you start but this doesn't mean it really cleans everything off. If this sounds like what has happned the fix is to run multile cleaning cycles. It can take anywhere from 10 to over 30 clean cycles before it starts to print properlly, If it is not too bad then 4-10 cleans and you are printing.
Sometime you put a new caertifge in and the inks don't like each other. They actually form a gell.The fix for this is of course more clean cycles until the bad ink is out of the print head.
If you look at start then printers then click on the printer installed to open and then look for a cleaner or clean cycle button and click to start. You will use both iink and paper but this is what you need to do (a few times) to male it behave.

I generally stay away from refill kits for quality reasons, that said there are a few things you can try.
1. remove cartridge, and place back in. (reseating)
2. while cartridge is in place, unplug printer, then plug back in.
3. clean the contacts on carriage with a cloth(minimal amount of lint)
4. clean the copper colored strip on the cartridge it self with a small amount of water on a cloth
Paper drags to the right
Sounds like you might have a small piece of paper stuck in the paper path that is causing it to feed incorrectly. Check the paper path.
My ink cartridges are nearly
Inkjet printers need to be used frequently to prevent inkdrying out in the print head nozzles.
If the print head cleaning maintenance routine does not clear the blockages,then print head needs replacing, but it may be expensive.
It may be more cost effective to buy a later model and better printer thanreplace the print head.
When i try to print
See if you can reinstall the printer. Try deleting the printer in the control panel and then reinstalling it. Also try plugging it into another USB port.
Do I need a special paper for this printer?
no not necessarily. I suggest you align your printer tray in such a way that it will instantly insert the paper and print it successfully. Otherwise the problem is maybe the unit itself or the drivers..
