Dell computer wont start up

Tough one, but inspect the motherboard for a blown capacitor. You could test the power supply with a simple voltmeter. Not to mention simply seeing anything lit with the case open while powered one. gl

System32 is not installed

This happens when you don't have a system 32 [ Windows operating system ] installed. This happens if you have a system 64 Windows operating system but usually happens when your Windows operating system isn't working properly. Sounds like you need to either 1 - Run windows repair 2- Run windows fresh install, You will need an INSTALL DISK with the operating system on it. If you have the operating disk insert it into the CD ROM or DVD [ same slot ] - please and follow the prompts. Be sure you have your activation code. If I go into detail this will take some time so I will see how much you know. If this answers your question then fine - if not come back and add to this solution with your comment. Let me know if you can get your pc going again with the information I have given you. Best of it Gary @ Fix Ya

Processor fan is very fast and faster when booting, startup. but can not get into WINDOWS

Test all leads that attach to your hard drive including electrical extensions,IDE,SATA

the leads from your ((motherboard to your hard drive)) make sure they have a secure dust free connections and are not faulty or just replace them they could be faulty make sure all leads that are attached to your drives dvd\cd 3 1/2 inch floppy have secure connections and are not faulty or just replace them they could be faulty ?

even something as small as an electrical extension or a faulty fan lead can cause this problem

a computer needs all of the data and electrical current to travel through every working device and to have an end to be able work properly

motherboard and a hard drive any leads between them will fail before your motherboard or your hard drive if its a flat ribbon 40 pin type IDE replace it this will be the first to fail check all electrical extensions make sure they are securely seated even the cd/dvd floppy drives need to have current go through make sure these drives are working

make sure the CPU central processing unit has thermal paste and dust free and is securely seated

make sure your computer ram modules are securely seated with no dust in sockets also Cmos battery has charge with no dust in the socket some motherboards cmos batteries are soldered in

hope this helps

Did a fresh install of Windows XP with new media disk, but after the installation, I can't get past the admin password and log in

Restart the computer. Repeatedly press the F8 key until the Advanced Boot Options screen appears. Select the Safe Mode option using the up and down arrow keys

then press the ENTER key. Choose "Windows XP Home/Professional" depending on the version of the operating system. Press ENTER. Shortly, the welcome screen should show.

Log in as "Administrator"

Click Yes to not use System Restore Mode.

Click the Start button. Choose Run and type in "control userpasswords" (without the quotes). Click OK

Select the "Administrator" user.

Click Change my password. Enter a new password in the corresponding text boxes.

Click OK. Write this password down and store it in a secure place. I do not recommend that a password hint be used.

Close the User Accounts window and restart Windows. hope this helps

I want to upgrade my power supply for the dell gx280 small desktop

Sorry to say that a 260w PSU is the largest PSU you will get for this system as that is all the M/B is safely rated to any higher than that and it may cause a fire or worse. I run a Dell GX270 and this is maxed out on a 260w PSU. This system will only be upgradeable to these specs :3.2Ghz CPU ( Note they must match existing letters on CPU.3Gb Ram under XP, 4 Gb under Vista or Win 7. ( Note win 7 will run very slowly )256Mb PCI Card or 512Mb AGP (4X or 8X )500Gb IDE or SATA HDDDVD Burner max ( Blu-Ray will not work as it is too advanced ).Even the tower model of these systems only have a 260w PSU max due to limited power rating for the M/B. Tower PSU is able to be swapped out just like any other tower but the fact remains that the M/B is only rated to 260w and if you use a larger PSU it may cause a fire or worse. I hope this helps.

Brand new computer is freezing up on a regular basis

Hello,

You must be wondering why your computer keeps freezing up while you need to get your job done or you want to relax and play your favorite game. My computer used to freeze up quite often. I could not do anything about it. I can only reset my computer every time it happens. So I went on research about why my computer freezes and I found an amazing way to get rid of it. It did not only stop my computer from freezing up, it also made my PC run fast. I will tell you how to do it.What is happening with my computer?
I found out that the registry files in our computer are the ones responsible for this problem. Registry files are the core files of your windows operating system. They determine and rule all your computer processes. As you use your computer you will install programs, uninstall programs, sometimes virus invade your pc without you knowing it, hardware problems, spyware, and much more. All these actions and events will be recorded in your registry. Your registries will grow in size and some of them might go broken because of program errors or malwares (virus, spyware, and adware).
You might notice that, it starts to run slower. After you remove certain virus, adware or software. Your PC performance drops slightly. Some of you might even experience worse cases like frequent freezes, blue screens, and computer crashes.
How can I repair my registry?
My PC had some important registries broken, that was why my Computer kept on freezing up. So I tried to find a way to fix these registries and stop my PC from freezing up. I wanted to tweak my own registry, luckily my friend was there and saw what I was trying to do and stopped me. He then explained to me that editing windows registry carelessly might destroy your windows, making it stop working totally. My curiosity almost killed me...
Then I continue researching how to fix my registries, and I found out that technicians use this program called registry cleaner. The best registry cleaners nowadays are Error Nuker, Registry Fix, and Registry Easy. CNET.com reviewed Error Nuker and they were really satisfied. Error Nuker was rated as one of the best programs by CNET.com. I tried this registry cleaner on my computer and it worked like a magic. My computer never freezes anymore and it becomes as fast as when it was new.
Visit the link below

Type the above link, so you can download them to scan your PC for free. with this, it should fix your problem.

Take care.

After doing a lot of checking online. I think you should just buy a new video card. That one isn't very good at all and you can't even find vista drivers anywhere on the web let alone windows 7 drivers. Sorry.
