Porque não consigo mudar minha resolução de tela?
Translation: Why can't I change my screen resolution? (English).
You video adaptor limits the resolution you can choose. If you right click on the desktop you can pick the graphic settings you want and it will give you 15 seconds to see what it looks like, before it restores to what it is already.
Why fan operates in sleep mode Dell OptiPlex 780?
Possibly it is overheating, which would depend on how often it runs, and how fast. During startup, it is normal for a fan to run at high speed, but if it's on constantly in sleep mode, I would look towards an overheating problem. Open it up, check for, and clean any dust around the heatsink / fan, and power supply fan. Also make sure that outside the PC there is plenty of space to allow airflow.
E2111 SBE LOG DISABLE -DIMM 3
Hi
Two most likely causes for this error are
First: the memory module, DIMM3 has worked its way loose and needs to be reseated firmly in its slot with both catches firmly engaged.
Second: The memory module DIMM 3 has become faulty and needs to replaced.
If reseating the DIMM doesn't work try swapping slots with a module of the same size in a different slot and see if the fault follows the module or goes away. If the fault follows the module, eg to DIMM 1, then it is most likely that the module is faulty.
Hope this is helpful, if so would you please register that with Fixya
Cheers

My Dell 210L suddenly shuts down and doesn't boot.
It sounds to me like you lost the computer power supply. They cam be purchased at a Best Buy or on Ebay. Make sure you get one with the corredt connections. Draw a diagram of where everything plugs into prior to disconnecting it, and take it along with you. Hope this helps.

PXE == Pre Execution Environment
Your computer can "boot" from various devices:
* floppy-disk
* CD-ROM
* USB memory stick
* DVD drive
* hard-drive
* over the network
If you don't have a "network boot server" somewhere on your network, you will get that "boot failed" message.
Enter BIOS SETUP mode, and disable "PXE boot over network", and make sure that the hard-drive and/or the CD/DVD drives are listed as candidates to be eligible boot-devices.
Why does monitor not turn on with computer
I know this sounds stupid but make sure the monitor is plugged in and turned on. If it is then either your monitor is bad, or your graphics card is bad, if you have access to a different monitor hook it up, if it works you know it\'s not your graphics card, if it doesn\'t then it\'s probably the graphics card
Orange light power for dell 380
An Amber blinking power button indicates a low voltage problem. This can be caused by a defective power supply or a defective motherboard.
Remove any PCI cards like modem, video card, sound card, etc... Remove the memory modules and disconnect cables to CD/DVD drives. Look at the USB ports to see if any are damaged.
DEll Latitude D520 is not starting at all.
Remove the main battery and try again, no change! remove the ram memory one at a time, testing as you go making sure there is one ram stick in the slot at all times. If none of these work, the motherboard is the likely problem and you will need a technician to access.
Computer turns on but monitor shows only the Dell logo
Most of the Dell desktops have a set of 4 lights mainly in the back of the computer where the ports are (usb). In this model i am not sure where they are, but these lights indicate a problem with e.g memory, hard disk, graphics controller, etc. Also see if the lights in front of the computer show some activity.
According to your experience you can remove the cover to get inside and remove the memory first and turn the pc on. if you don't see anything at all or hear some beeps you might need to replace the memory. This pc should be taken to a technician.
Click noise on my desktop
It is likely a wire hitting the cooling fan. If you open the case and look withing it will be fairly obvious. Otherwise, sometimes clicking noises can come from the CD tray, or the hard drive. If the hard drive is grinding, (and that would be more of a grinding noise) you would be wise to back data up, as that can mean your hard drive is on its way out.
How to gain access of keyboard from virus
Try starting your computer in Safe Mode
To do that
Turn off your computer
then turn it back on
and immediately press and tap the F8 key on the keyboard
even though there's no display yet on the screen
the one that will appear on the screen should be "Windows Advanced Boot Options"
and safe mode is there
you just need to choose it by the arrow keys on the keyboard
then once you selected it just press enter
you computer will go to Safe Mode
