I have a Dell Poweredge
Depending on the RAID setup you have for your server. Best thing to do is search for "Dell Open Manage" software for your server and install it https://www.dell.com/support/home/us/en/04/drivers/driversdetails?driverId=R108443&osCode=WNET&productCode=poweredge-4400. Once installed it will give you all the information about your hardware. you should b able to rebuild RAID with same size drive if previous drive is bad, RAID will build automatically and take a long time to complete,

You would need to use an admin account, local or network. I can be done via Active Directory or by anybody else that can Manage it via network. The other option is to use a third party util like Hiren's Boot CD. Lastly is to format. gl

you in the correct area you first delete all containers then re do the scsci drives follow the menu space to selct the drives then you inisalize not format if you format each drive you will be workng for hours on format make the containers then let the contoler check consistancy you will be finished in 5 hours
The aid hard disk in the containers cannot be found by the system
MAYBE YOU LOST YOUR CONFIGURATION BUT DO YOU SEE THEM UNDER PHYSICAL VIEW IN THE CONTROLLER BIOS?AS IT BOOTS DID IT REPORT THE CONTAINERS OR NOT POWER DOWN UNPLUG POWER CHECK THE CABLE ATTACHES TO THE BACKPLAIN, POWER UP,,,,,,GO INTO THE [PERC BIOS UNDER MANAGED CONTAINER VIEW .(A EASY WAY TO CHECK THE CABLE IS ... IF YOU HAVE A SPARE DRIVE YOU CAN PLUG IT TO THE CONTROLLER MAKE SURE TO PUT POWER TO THE DRIVE IF YOU SEE THE DRIVE WELL THAT ELIMINATED THE CABLE)
GOOD LUCK
I just got this machine and it hangs on the POST
POST errors can be difficult to diagnose.
If you have a speaker attached, listen for a sequence of short and long beeps, and pauses between. Record the sequence, this is a code that tells what the POST diagnostic is.
Other start up BIOS keys are F2, F6, F8, F10 and F12; when I don't know which one it is, I just hit all of them.
Whether it's stated or not, you can usually hit these keys during the memory count, (The second Self Test after video)
If the Memory Count dosn't finish and the BIOS open, then perhaps a dammaged memory chip is the cause. Try Rearranging the chips, or removing all but one of them and try the boot sequence.
This may not be a solution but further info can be gained by trying these.
Help
I have one of these servers...whats the issue?
Ethernet adaptor
Hi
The embedded NIC is Intel 82559 10/100 Ethernet controller. You may however install a Gigabit NIC as a PCI card.

Power is 2950 i912 sel full
Namrata_stha,
The I912 error is referring to the System Event Log is full of events and because of this is unable to log anymore. You must clear the log in order for the Server Management controller to log any more events. Now depending on the OS installed there are different ways to clear it. If Windows Server 2k8 you would use this command - wevtutil el ' foreach { wevtutil cl $_ }
Where with Server 2003 you can go tot he Event viewer and clear it.
Let me know if this helps.
