Dell PowerEdge 2300 Server won't boot

To power off using the power button, press and hold in for more than four seconds. However this is not solving your problem of not booting, needs some more information. Such as Beeping noises, number and length of beeps. Or any LED.s flashing?

Dell poweredge internet connection problem

A SCSI device would be a hard drive. Sound like you need to check the network cable, card, and configuration. Start by doing a simple ping.ipconfig /all is the cmd to see the settings. Then ping the Gateway listed.

Hello,

Unfortunally there is nothing you can do. If you have an admin password, you could use that and reset your password an ID. If not, you will need to reinstall the os to gain access.

Good Luck

We have a Dell Poweredge

Go into the RAID setup during bootup (not always in the BIOS), but will post somewhere on startup (should say SCSI/SAS Controller card press CTRL + M to enter setup) or similar.

When in the raid setup check to see the status of the drive(s).

Was the machine running and it's just happened etc or are these machines you have obtained and are plain not working?

My problem is that I need a key to open the

The Keys have numbers. Some are tied to the customer service number on the back of the case, IF it has been registered for warranty. If not...then you can either force the lock ( its pretty hard ), or drill they key out....or drill the case from the top. ( I drilled from the top, soft plastic, then switched to a metal bit, and drilled the metal tang off. Replacement cost: $4.75 for some black epoxy, $2.00 for the metal tang. ( comes off with a nut driver ).

Hi i have a dell poweredge 2850. Orange LED blinking

It sounds like a hard disk has failed or fallen out of sync.
This can be a serious problem if not addressed ASAP.

Call Dell, they have lifetime phone support for their servers.

Write down the Express Service Code and Service Tag number that is on the server chassis before you call.
This is the last number I used for server support: (800) 945-3355
If it doesn't work you should be able to find a valid number at support.dell.com

I hope this helps.

Dell PowerEdge 2300 - Monitor, keyboard and mouse will not respond

It sounds like the power supply is failing.

Failing power supplies will sometimes deliver just enough power to make the fans spin but not enough for the motherboard and drives to start.

I hope this helps.

I just replace the power supply and still not working

If all the power cables are attached to the motherboard (normally about 2 different cables), then:

1) Rule out the switch: follow the small cables that come from the power switch to the motherboard...pull it off the motherboard and try using a paper clip to "short" the jumper pins that the switch was attached to. This simulates the power switch being pushed. If that doesn't work then.....

2) Motherboard may be bad

Servers usually don't come with sound cards. If you really need one, you must install one. If it is truly a server, I would recommend against it.

I have a Dell PE1950 server when ever I pat on it it resets...

hi,
what that means is that the power button of the server is not properly insulated from the chassis of the server so whenever you touch it its circuit completes and its reset. change in the chassis will hopefully solve the problem.

Further Queries are welcome

Monitor and keyboard will not respond

It only happens with your keyboard and mouse? or does it include your monitor too? if it does include you monitor then it is the video card. It is built in to your system and is causing the problem. I got the same issue before. My mouse doesn't work, keyboard won't respond, monitor is blank. I know its the video card. It is not typical for a server to respond that way but you need to replace the system or replace the video card...
