Your laptop has a hardware problem. The unrecognized sound card and USB ports are a dead giveaway. You probably have a loose wire, or worse, a motherboard that is going bad. If your laptop is under warranty, call Dell and get the laptop to them right away. If not, you'll have to have an experienced repair person look at it and you'll have to decide if it's worth fixing. I'm such a person, and I'm a Dell partner. I'm in Rockville, MD and if you're nearby, please call me or send me a message through my website.

The only way to bypass the BIOS password on a Dell Portable, is with either the original password or with the assistance of Dell Tech Support to generate a master password. From your post, You indicate that you could not verify ownership information registered on the system, and Tech Support would not assist. So you need to get the previous registered owner's information and submit a change of ownership here: http://support.dell.com/support/topics/global.aspx/support/change_order/tag_transfer?c=us&cs=2684&l=en&s=pub&~ck=anavml
If you cannot get the previous owner's data then you only option is replace the motherboard. (There is no hardware setting that will allow you to bypass a set BIOS password)

Hello mate,
my first suggestion will be scanning your computer from any Virus,Spyware,Maleware,Trojan...
You can also restore your computer to a previous date when it was working fine.
and finally i strongly suggest to use other browsers like Firefox and Google Chrome, they are more friendly and faster than IE.

if it is the original battery, it most likely needs replacement. Portable batteries have a expected life of 300 to 500 recharge cycles (18 to 24 mos) If a new battery does not charge, then a motherboard replacement is warranted.

Resetting BIOS password

If you have loast the password, to reset the BIOS password you need to remove temporarily the CMOS battery , so to reset BIOS settings.

Some model may be using NV Ram, in that case removing the battery is not enough.

The battery is located on the lower side on the motherboard.

On many DELL models the battery can be accessed from the side of DVD slot, battery slot, or RAM slot, without disassemblying the laptop.

On some model you may need complete disassembly (eg. Dell Le series).

The battery usually looks like a couple of coin batteries wrapped in plastic and connected to motherboard by a two wires connector.

Before disassemblying or removing covers, always unplug adapter and remove battery.

Several Dell Laptop can be set to use NV Ram to store the password.
In this case the problem cannot be solved removing primary battery, then accessing and removing CMOS battery for few minutes.

If you still cannot reset you have two way out.

Disassemble completely and access the NVRAM microswitch, or contact Dell and get master password.

You can also try one of this standard Dell factory CMOS password:

ALFAROME
BIOSTAR
biostar
biosstar
CMOS
cmos
LKWPETER
lkwpeter

or you can try to reformat the hard drive, but I don't think that will help.

Dell 1505 Inspiron... Dead?

Motherboard failure, you can buy one on Ebay for about $100.
To confirm, remove RAM, Drives, battery and wireless cards, see if the LED indications change. If no change, then the MB is confirmed bad. If they change, add 1 RAM module back, see if the system will post enough to get into BIOS. If it does, add other RAM module. Keep adding items, (Wireless, battery, CD Drive, then HDD) and ID the one causing the failure.
