Printer has started to slow down to 6-8 minutes to print one photo

Hi Sally. There could be a number of reasons for that happening but here are the most likely causes and their solution. Check the setting for the type of paper and the quality for the printer to use plus the PPI of the image file itself. Taking the last first, have you changed any settings in your camera - meaning have you perhaps changed the quality to use from say Medium to High? That could change the PPI /Pixels Per Inch) for the image which means a larger files size for the same size image as previously, which in itself means more information for the printer to process as it prints each photo. When you select to Print - open the PROPERTIES dialogue area and check the settings - for example were you perhaps using the Text & Image, Photo or Best Photo (may be slightly different - I cannot be more specific as you have not mentioned whick model you have but you should be able to see what I mean). Best Photo will take longer than Photo, which itself will take longer than the T&I setting. Then there is the paper type. Different choices can change how long it takes - so for the least quality, the Plain Paper setting will be the fastest (and could give a decent print, believe it or not IF better paper is actually used). To permanently change the Default (the one always used) for the printer, go into Control Panel and find the Printers section, right click on the printer icon and select Properties. You can then set what you would like to use every time as your standard setting (the Default) - which you can change for each print job at the time of printing, using the printers Properties facility - which then only applies for that time as the printer, for all future work, will revert back to the Default - so you would change per print job if you have different requirements - for example - even the normal size paper, which is generally always defaulted from installation to A4. Hope those give you some areas to explore to see where your change has occurred - as it will be due some change along the line - the printer will not, of its own accord, go slower - there has to be a reason for that and it is most likely one or more of the settings shown above.

How to fix the white lines on my prints

Print a test pattern to see if that is good. If so, then you are probably printing in draft mode. Simple select text and photos in printer properties and that should take care of it,

Trying to print -

This can also be caused when the upper cassette tray (for small paper stock / photo paper) becomes detached from the lower tray. There is a gear attached to the lower paper tray which handles movement of the upper paper tray. Make sure that moving this gear causes the upper paper tray to move. If it doesn't, then you need to snap the upper paper try on a little better.

After changing ink cartridges red and green lights

Routine maintenance and keeping full ink tanks will prevent this problem, however if you have the problem you can resolve it by doing the following:
1. Clean your print head using denatured alcohol solvent which can be purchased from most hardware stores. If unavailable, use 91% Alcohol (isopropyl alcohol (first aid antiseptic) which is available for less than a dollar at most Walmart pharmacy departments.

*Warning: You may want to use a pair of latex exam gloves as this is a messy process and can stain your fingers.
Time necessary 45-50 minutes
Supplies needed:
Isopropyl Alcohol or denatured alcohol
paper towels
latex gloves
sink, bowls and or basin
can of compressed air
very small screw driver
tablespoon or baby bulb type syringe
warm water

PROCEDURE:
1. Lift print head from printer. It pulls out easily because it is held in with the same down lever that holds the cartridge in place.
2. Put two layers of paper towels in the bottom of a dish to protect sensitive sprayer heads.
3.Put enough solvent in dish to cover the screens on which the cartridges sit when in use.
4. Take the two small screws out that hold the white ceramic piece
5. Gently, pry the ceramic piece back and away , to reveal the underside (No need to pull away the glued points on the sides.)
6. Gently, move head up and down to slosh solvent around it the best as you can. Use a table spoon or syringe to pour solvent over all orifices in the print head, turning it upside down and then back a few times.
7. Use canned air with a plastic straw to blow into and through all orifices, alternately sloshing/swishing and pouring solvent over head (be careful not to touch any of the holes, screens, or sprayer heads with anything)
8. Empty dirty solvent from bowl and replace with paper towels and clean solvent. Soak for approx 10 minutes. Rinse again with clean solvent poured directly on all parts, letting solvent overrun and fall into dish or basin.
9. Gently shake the solvent off the head, take it outside and spray with compressed air into all orifices to clear out and help evaporate any remaining solvent. Let sit on a clean paper towel for approx 20 minutes. (There may be a little ink bleeding out of the head, but once it dries completely it does not present any problems.
10. Reinstall head, cartridges and it will print like a new printer.

SUGGESTION: For many years of problem free printing, keep a double set of ink cartridges, one set full at all times. Whenever a cartridge runs out of ink, replace it IMMEDIATELY, with a new one or a refilled one. This gives the print head no chance to dry out and create clogged heads. Routine maintenance of cleaning the heads every 24 months does wonders for keeping your printer in new condition.

Hope this helps. .

SORRY FORGOT HOW TO INSTALL NEW CARTRIDGES

Just plug in power cord to source (120v/110v/250v/220v) then hold power on until the red light is on. Wait for the nozzle/"cartridge holder" moves to the center. Then that's the time you are going to change new cartridge. Or if you have already connected to the PC, go to printer settings found in the control panel and click printer wizard box.

The ink cartridges need to be replaced very often epson 810

You can try to change your print quality to a lower setting. This saves a lot on toner. If you are not printing for anything super important you can set some printers to "fast draft" or "draft" quality and that saves a ton. I personally dont usually need to print anything of high quality so I went to my local "Everything" store(not sure if I should use company names) and bought an HP, the cheapest color printer they had which was $30.00 The black and color cartridges together cost about the same as the printer. But I use the lowest setting which is the "fast draft" setting and set it to print in black ink only, and only change that when I NEED something in color and it uses very little and prints very fast.

The Waste Ink Pads in your printer are saturated with ink and the waste ink counter has exceeded its limit. The Waste Ink Pads should be replaced as soon as possible. You can overcome this problem temporarily by using the SSC utility - download from

http://www.ssclg.com/epsone.shtml

and reset the Protection Counter. This will stop the lights flashing and restore normal operation. However, remember that eventually ink will overflow from the waste ink area and make a dreadful mess, so you must change the waste ink pads before this happens. This requires the disassembly of the printer. If you want to have a go at doing this yourself, the 810 service manual can be downloaded from here:
