Release carriage lock. Or turn on printer, immediatelly unplu power while carriage moving. So, carriage will not park at parking position. Move by hand freely.

Did you use Epson Genuine Cartridges?

ALL…. Epson & Brother Requires Genuine Epson Cartridges. !!!!!!!!
That sounds like your problem.

In Purchasing Epson's CX 5400, CX4600, & CX7400 and more, I found out that Epson does not like Generic Printer Cartridges. I also Purchased a Brother. That also does not like Generic Print Cartridges. Color that should be Yellow, will turn out Green, Blue Brown, etc. These printers have a CHIP that will detect if it is Generic or Genuine. When they see it’s Generic Cartridges, it will print lines thru the words, stripes across the picture and also do a mix match with the colors. It also will not let you print anything, if only one of the cartridges is empty.

I wanted to print only Black, and would not let me, because I did not have any ink in one of my cyan cartridges. Go figure.

That's what these Companies do., so they can keep selling the ink cartridges. Some Printers, are able to use Generic, and some are refillable. Some you can refill them up yourself and I heard, quite MESSY.

So I learned, thru trial and error, that you must use the ORIGINAL Genuine Cartridges for these PRINTERS. Some people say some models work fine compatible, but not mine.......

I had to replace the printer, but Epson, Lexmark & Brothers are always on sale. My Brother & Epson cost me $50.00 with Rebate. .

Yes. In order to prevent air from being drawn into the print system, which could damage the printhead, all cartridges must be installed; none are allowed to be empty.

I have just telephone my computer work shop for this problem there is a printer expert who is going to look at it for me .

you need to upload the driver for vista. It is the top table cell on the link below. After that it should work fine. Good Luck

you should be able to have them clean themselves in control panel printers, Epson Stylus CX3200 and properties

From reading posts in the ssclg website mentioned above it seems Epson set counters that ensure your printer stops working after a certain number of copies so they can "service" it (or get you to replace it). When you download the utility mentioned above, read the help file. (Right click the icon in the tray to get it up.) It will tell you which buttons to press when, so that the counters are reset, and hey presto - your printer will be working just fine again.Search for your printer model number on the ssclg website to read others' similar experiences. I'm betting that, just like the rest of us, your printer doesn't actually have a problem at all.After pressing 3 buttons, mine is fne gain.

I think there is something wrong in the way you installed the drivers an SW for your scanner. There is a set method of installation of all devices and software as given in the link
Installing Devices on PCs and Laptops
Please follow the guideline here and then you will have all the benefits of the device. Just remember that the device is the last to be connected initially. And before that a reboot is a must for the drivers etc to be read and followed. If still there is a problem, please do not hesitate to get back to me.

Hi, one of your ink cartridges are empty, to check which cartridge needs replacing press the stop button, the carriage will move across to the left and sit below a pointer. This will point to the empty cartridge.
Press the stop button again, the carriage will move across either to display another empty cartridge or to the position to allow you to change the cartridge.
This can also be checked using the Status monitor software on the PC.

repalce catridges with new ones

I have to ask this question of you, just to make sure this is not an issue. Are you using a factory new ink cartridge?
Please consider the following:
If you are using a refilled or third party cartridge that may well be your problem. Most manufacturers build logic into their products to prevent the use of “Other Equipment Manufactured” cartridges as well as re-filled cartridges.
They do this to prevent problems from contaminated inks causing problems with print quality or damaging the physical printhead.
If you are using factory new cartridges, then please call the manufacturers Technical Support for assistance with the warranty on the cartridges

www.epson.com has the drivers to download and usually an option to buy the CD if you need it.
