Can you tell me how to change ink on an epson
The Epson Stylus CX6400 is an all-in-one printer that also features a
scanner
for scanning and copying. The Epson CX6400 prints with ink via four
separate ink cartridges in black (high or standard capacity), cyan,
magenta and yellow. The cartridges sit in slots in a cartridge holder
underneath the scanner. As cartridges run low, or cartridge print
quality problems arise, ink cartridge replacement become necessary. As
each cartridge snaps effortlessly into the cartridge holder, changing
cartridges doesn't require much effort beyond unsnapping the old
cartridge from the holder and replacing it with a new one.

jQuery(e).find('img').one('error',function(){ jQuery(e).remove(); });
});
Instructions
-
Step 1
Turn on the CX6400.
-
Step 2
Check
the ink levels for each cartridge. Press the "Setup" button to enter
the setup mode. Press the topmost button on the left side of the LCD
repeatedly until you reach the Ink Levels screen and then press the
"Color" button to see the ink level percentages (for example, 0 percent
or 50 percent) scroll across the screen for each cartridge (C for cyan,
M for magenta, Y for yellow and K for black). Press the "OK" button to
exit.
-
Step 3
Select
the empty cartridge or low cartridge option on your printer. If you're
dealing with one or more empty cartridges, press the "Color" button. If
you've decided to replace low ink cartridges, press the "Setup" button,
press the topmost button on the left side of the LCD repeatedly until
you reach the Replace Ink screen and then press the "Color" button.
-
Step 4
Reach
into the slots on both sides of the printer under the scanner unit.
Lift the scanner unit up carefully to reveal the cartridge holder on
the right side of the printer. Lean the scanner back to rest on its
hinges.
-
Step 5
Grip
the unhinged end of the cartridge cover near the back of the printer
and then pull the cartridge toward you. If this is done correctly, the
cover should flip back and hang slightly out from the printer on a
hinge.
-
Step 6
Press
your fingertip against the grooved tab on the cartridge that you're
changing to unlock the cartridge from the holder. Once it is unlocked,
pull the cartridge straight up and out of the printer and set it aside
for disposal.
-
Step 7
Shake
the new replacement cartridge in its sealed packaging four to five
times using a rapid side-to-side motion and then remove it from the
packaging without touching the green circuit board.
-
Step 8
Insert
the replacement cartridge in the holder and push down on it until you
hear the grooved tab click, locking the cartridge in place. Remove and
replace any other cartridges as needed.
-
Step 9
Flip
the cartridge cover over the cartridge holder and push down on it to
lock it in place. Grasp the sides of the scanner unit and lower it
gently into its previous position. Wait for the "Charging" message to
disappear from the LCD and then begin printing.

Please perform the following steps to ensure your printer is physically
functioning.
1) Disconnect the printer cable that is connecting printer

2) Turn the printer ON by holding down the POWER button for
about 3 seconds.
3) Load A4 or LETTER size paper in the sheet feeder on the
back of the printer. Press the SETUP button to enter Setup Mode.
4) Press
the green button next to the LCD screen until you see NOZZLE CHECK is displayed,
then press the COLOR button to print the nozzle check.
5) The printer will
print a pattern displaying a number and a nozzle pattern with black & color.
Examine the nozzle check pattern that has printed. Each staggered horizontal
line and straight vertical line should be complete.
6) To exit the SETUP
mode, simply press the COPY mode so that it is illuminated or the copy options
appear in the LCD.
If the nozzle check pattern page doesn't print or if
it prints with gaps or missing sections, the print head may need cleaning or the
ink cartridge(s) may need to be replaced.
If the nozzle check pattern
page prints correctly, the problem may be with your software settings, the
interface cable, or your computer.
I replaced 4 cartridges of
Hello.
Give this a try:
(1) Open the
printer
(2) Remove the color ink cartridges from the print head.
(3)
Use cotton swabs dipped in hot water to thoroughly clean the print
head.
(4) Repeat this until there is no ink residue coming off on the
cotton swab.
(5) Once finished, allow to dry and replace the
cartridges
(6) Try to print something now.
If that does not
work then the print head(s) may need to be replaced.
Hope this
helps.
Black ink won't print
Did you use Epson Genuine Cartridges? ALL…. Epson & Brother Requires Genuine Cartridges. !!!!!!!! Don't print too much or else you'll use up all of your ink. That sounds like your problem. In Purchasing Epson's CX 5400, CX4600, & CX7400 and more, I found out that Epson does not like Generic Printer Cartridges. I also Purchased a Brother MFC-240C All-In-One InkJet Printer. That also does not like Generic Print Cartridges. Color that should be Yellow, will turn out Green, Blue Brown, etc. These printers have a CHIP that will detect if it is Generic or Genuine. When they see it’s Generic Cartridges, it will print lines thru the words, stripes across the picture and also do a mix match with the colors. It also will not let you print anything, if only one of the cartridges is empty.
I wanted to print only Black, and would not let me, because I did not have any ink in one of my cyan cartridges. Go figure.
That's what these Companies do., so they can keep selling the ink cartridges. Some Printers, are able to use Generic, and some are refillable. Some you can refill them up yourself and I heard, quite MESSY.
So I learned, thru trial and error, that you must use the ORIGINAL Genuine Cartridges for these PRINTERS. Some people say some models work fine compatible, but not mine.......
I had to replace the printer, but Epson, Lexmark & Brothers are always on sale. My Brother & Epson cost me $50.00 with Rebate. .IF YOU ARE USING GENERIC CARTRIDGES, MAYBE IT WOULD BE BETTER IF YOU DISABLE THE INK MONITOR.
This is the only advice I can give you. The next step would be to disassemble the Epson, and clean the Pads/Heads. Click on link below.:http://www.hm2k.com/posts/parts-inside-your-printer-are-at-the-end-of-their-service-lifeI located a page on http://www.fixyourownprinter.com forum, which had plenty of details about similar issues.
