Epson Stylus C66 Photo InkJet Printer Questions & Answers
EPSON TM T88IV
The TM-T88IV printer is a thermal printer and does not have ink or a ribbon.
If the printer is not printing you may have the wrong type of paper in the printer. You must have thermal paper in order for the printer to work. Paper for a dot matrix printer will not work in this printer.
The printer has a self-test that you can perform by turning the printer off, holding down the Feed button and turning the printer on. A test strip will print. Press the Feed button again to print a longer test strip.

My clarification request is really a solution.
Solution to end of service
In most cases the printer driver software can have errors while being in use or is shut down. So to reset remove your printer from the PC and uninstall the printer software. Now reinstall the printer software and then connect the Printer ONLY WHEN PROMPTED, to be detected as a new hardware as it will be installed. Now check the printer properties to see the ink levels. Activate head cleaning before a test is taken. Sometimes it is possible that the head is not reacting to the need of the PC command or can be an issue with ink drying or poor ink cartridge contacts. Sometimes the power supply unit must be checked as a poor SMPS unit can deliver low voltage and cause issues to the printer function. Check all the leads and connections of the mother board , the tags to the ink cartridge. Also check the mechanical settings of the ink cartridge , if jammed or tight remove motor and manually free the drive before it is set back.
I have changed the ink cartridges, cleaned the
Ok, since you already tried cleaning the nozzles still there's no ink from the cartridge, you can try this one:
get the ink cartridge
soak the half of the cartridge in a luke-warm water for about a couple of mins.
then dry the cartridge
put it back to the printer and try to print again
see if there's any ink coming out
if still none
the cartridge needs to be replaced.

if this issue occurs it may vary on the paper that your using. size and quality does matter.

That is the problem with epson, the separated head and ink. Possible the problem is in head. Try make printet pieces :) and remove printing head, and use Isopropyl alcohol to wash it, if possible to let it to make a bath for 1 hr. and dry it. hopping the electronics and cables are ok.

It could be a hardware issue.
Check first if the printer is working fine. Keep on holding down the paper button while you turn the printer on. Let go of the paper button when the power light starts to flash. if it printed out a color test pattern successfully, check if you are using the corrrect driver.
Tell me more if you need assistance in trashing and re-installing the proper driver for your printer. Include the full version of the operating system you are using too.
Goodluck.

My printer will not turn on
Here are some things to try:
1. Different plug (outlet) just to make sure it isn't the plug causing an issue.
2. Unplug the power cable from the back of the printer itself if possible and plug it back in while holding down the power button.
3. Unplug the printer from the computer all together and see if it powers up.
4. If it's a separate power cord try to find one similar in nature to plug in and try out as it may be the cord.
The magenta ink won't print & it's not the cartridge
Hi, one or two head cleans won't clear a clogged nozzle. Try doing 4 or 5 head cleans, wait about 10 hours for the ink to soften and do another 3 or 4 cleans with a nozzle check after each. You should see a gradual improvement in the nozzle checks. If there is no improvement then you need a head cleaning solution such as this one:

Others are available just try googling "inkjet head cleaning". The nozzles on the print heads are finer than a human hair, even if you could get at them without a major strip down I wpouldnt recommend it as they can easily be damaged.
Note that head cleaning uses between 5 and ten percent of your ink cart's, if any are low on ink have some new ones ready. Hope this helps.
Please take a moment to rate this solution, thanks.
