Possible firmware fault, if your not afraid of using a screwdriver in your printer remove in the inside top cover and check that the little optical sensor and gate are functioning properly! but as its working in the other 2 modes it would suggest its more likely to be a firmware fault so try resetting it or a firmwear upgrade from website! hope this helps
Epson Photo RX620
I use a bulk ink system which is not Epson so printer did not recognise the ink supply.
I 1) Turned printer off
2) Removerd bulk ink suppy tanks
3) Fitted Epson ink tanks [ dont matter empty or full ]
4) Turn on printer and let it go through it's start up prcedure
5) Do not turn printer off but do ink change procedure and refit bulk ink tanks
6) Do Nozle Check/Clean/Realignment

Ink spilled
It is true that if you let the ink dry it won't be a problem. If you switch it on before think dries, it may cause the printer to shortcircuit.
Take a wet soft cloth (add a little isopropyle alcohol to make it wet) and with this cloth wipe the printer and inside, where the ink was spilt. also clean the cartridges.
After cleaning put the cartridges back and try again. if the problem persists, try changing the cartridges.
If something is already short get your printer sereviced from an authorised service outlet.
EPSON STYLUS RX 520 HAS AN ERROR E-91
The error E-91 on an Epson Stylus RX 520 indicates a communication problem between the printer and the cartridge. Here are some steps you can try to resolve the issue:
