Things You'll Need:

• Replacement cartridge (black, cyan, magenta, or yellow)

1. Step 1 Turn on the printer and press the Color button.
   
2. Step 2 Lift up the scanner and wait for the ink cartridge holder to move into position. Remove the ink cartridge holder's cover.
   
3. Step 3 Push the tab at the back of the empty ink cartridge to free it from the cartridge holder. Lift the empty cartridge out and dispose of it.
   
4. Step 4 Prepare the replacement cartridge by shaking it gently while still in its packaging. Remove the cartridge from its wrapper, taking care to hold it by the sides.
   
5. Step 5 Insert the replacement cartridge into the appropriate slot of the ink cartridge holder. Push down on the replacement cartridge until it clicks into place.
   
6. Step 6 Close the cartridge cover and lower the scanner until it clicks into place. The printer is now ready for operation
   

You can't bypass it. It need in in all cartridges, even though you are just printing black n white.

if you go under the settings on your computer youu can make them larger

is the particular error message parts inside your printer is at the end of its service life?

if so pls visit the website www.epson.com/ipr make sure you are using windows xp as an operating system to reset you ink pad.

though i need to know the os u r using..
considering that u r using win xp or vista..

howevr, along wid the company, there will b a list of such site n driver download links if u search by the model name on a search engine like google..
download them onto a location; if the driver is in a zip format, unzip it,if itz in .exe form, just run it; if done manually it'll ask for the correct driver and location; relocate the path and a.inf file (wat it'll ask for)..

The Epson Cartridges are not refillable. I've tried, and made a mess.

You have to buy Genuine Cartridges, or otherwise, it will not print properly.

You will need your Disc that came you printer.

Put cd in cd rom and it should start on its own.
If it doesnt then go to add and remove programs,
then click on the cd rom and it should start installing it.

Thanks for using FixYa. There are two step-by-step procedures to resolve the issue—

Procedure 1

1. Turn off the printer and ensure that the print head is at its home location and locked in place as normal;
2. Power off the printer at the wall or by removing the power cable for at least 20 seconds;
3. While you restore power to the printer at the wall socket or by reinserting the cable, if the lights come back on straight away, the printer’s power switch was ‘on’ - switch it off and return to step 1;
4. Hold down the paper-feed button and the button with the ink-drops next to it, and then turn on the printer, still holding the buttons down;
5. When the paper-out LED flashes, release the buttons;
6. Press and hold the Cleaning button, until several lights flash - this will take a few seconds then release the button;
7. The printer will now attempt to reset, including resetting the EEPROM memory and running a short (about 10 seconds) cleaning cycle.

Procedure 2

1. Turn off the printer and ensure that the print head is at it’s home location and locked in place as normal;
2. Hold down the paper feed button only;
3. Turn on the printer;
4. As the paper feed light starts flashing, release the button;
5. Immediately hold down the ink-drops button for some 10-20 seconds or until the printer springs into life;
6. Allow printer to complete its processing then turn it off for a few seconds and turn it again on.

By following any of the above step-by-step procedure, the printer will start printing normally.

The waste ink tank is full.Read this instruction.
If this not help there is a manual reset for this printers but I'm not tried yet.

• Press and hold B/W+COLOR+STOP button.
• Press power button, don’t release all button until you see the led indicator blinking and a message display on the LCD.
• Release the button.
• Press COLOR button to clear protection counter
• Turn off the printer by pressing power button.
• DONE!

Hi, I am sorry to hear regarding the problem. You could try to unplug and again plug in the device after few minutes and then check, if that could fix the problem. If not :- 1. Check if error light is flashing or solid? 2. Check if power light is flashing or solid? If your answer would be Solid for both Questions, it indicates a broken printer.
