If the original scan comes out as a PDF, save it and open it with Preview; then, save it again as a jpeg.

Once its printed or sent to the scanner , I don't think you can edit. Im pretty sure you can only do the editing direct on the PC

Yes, when you choose start Scan in the software, the light will come on and move across the document to perform the scan job.

You will probably need to install again the scanner software and driver. Please click here and download the software. With windows you need to download TWAIN DRIVER AND EPSON SCAN UTILITY.

Once download is complete, install the software running the downloaded file. You may need to restart the computer after installing. Ensure that you authorize any system change if required by Windows or by security software.

Sounds like there is a problem with the driver. It is more than likely a software problem on your computer.Did you install a software disk for it? Was the error message on the scanner itself or on the computer? Your best bet might be to uninstall the software and then reinstall the software, but that is all I can tell you with the limited information you gave.

In order to scan to word so a document is editable you need to use Optical Character Recognition Software (OCR). You can download free ocr software from www.simpleocr.com Use that software and then either export once scanned to Word or Save as a Word document in the OCR application.

The only thing that usually causes a scanner error of this type is either a scanner failure or the transport lock. Locate the lock and make sure it is in the unlocked position. Lock and unlock a few times leaving it in the unlocked position then power the scanner off and on again.

hi there, it may be that Epson hasn't developed drivers compatible with your system. My suggestion is to try it on another computer that has windows and see if it works. If so, go on Safari and type in Epson Perfection 2400 Photo Flatbed scanner drivers and see what comes up on Epson's website.

Suggestion:

First update your PC to Windows XP service pack 3 and then update all patches after that. The problem will most likely still exist as this limit was an old MS DOS limitation so I'm leaning as the root cause of the problem lies with the Epson Software. After XP is fully updated and patched try the Scanner again. If still limited - uninstall and reinstall the scanner software.

You may have accidently pushed the LOCK button - this button is used to LOCK the carriage into place when moving the scanner to another location or shipping it.

Check for a button and the picture of a LOCK, it is usually at the back of the scanner, you can push it left or right, and you have an open lock and a closed lock picture under it. Make sure you didn't accidently push it to the LOCK position when holding the scanner - that loud sound means your carriage is locked and cannot move - once you set the button to UNLOCK this should solve your problem.

Of course scanner have it's own freeware software provided with driver & software for your scanner with all operating system required.
Run the Disc to install a program with the drivers also to let you scan documents, pictures, & etc...
All the setting are there to know how to scan.... First Preview it then scan and it will send to your driver (destination folder) where it saves the files.

i have the pro 95 scanner and all my frequences have been erased. a friend of mine had mentioned that i could get my scanner frequences off line by pluggind into a usb from scanner to computer . but what site do i go to and is it free
