Filter keeps clogging up ie what gets picked up goes into the filter not cylinder?

Hi there, it's Jack at Dyson. I'm confident I know what the issue is here - it sounds like you may have accidentally discarded the bin inner when emptying your machine. Without this in place, dust and debris will pass through the system and onto the pre-filter, rather than being separated from the airflow and captured in the clear bin. The bin inner is the coloured cylindrical plastic section with a black rubber seal, which usually sits inside the clear bin as shown here: filter-keeps-clogging-up-ie-gets-picked-v44rt5buvdl41mnfadiqwxd2-4-0.jpg If you've recently emptied your DC05 it's worth checking to make sure the bin inner hasn't fallen out. If you can retrieve it, it should simply push firmly back into place inside the clear bin. It's also a good idea to wash both parts of your machine's washable pre-filter, as it may still contain dust even if it looks clean on the outside. Use cold water without detergent, and allow at least 12 hours for both parts of the filter to dry completely before replacing it in the machine: I hope this helps. If you need any further guidance you're welcome to give the Dyson UK Helpline a call on 0800 298 0298. We're available from 8am-8pm from Monday to Friday, and 8am-6pm on weekends. Dyson animal vacuum 07 --5 years old no suction

the only way to fix the problem is to clean out the motor filter that's inside, the filter is around the motor and they don't do replacements for this part, as its not accessible by normal use, you need to remove all the case screws and disassemble the hole case, this site may help you https://manchestervacs.co.uk/DysonForum/index.php?topic=76.0

Can you replace dyson on/off switch dc05 turbobrush

There are a number of places that list replacement switches. There are also a number of DC05 models, though the power switch is not likely to vary across them. Amazon, for instance, has a Dyson Switch for models including the DC05 and six other models (see here Dyson Switch Dc03 Dc04 Dc05 Dc07 Dc08 Dc11 Dc14 On Off ) This video (ostensibly for a DC08, but the procedure should be pretty much identical) shows how to take the unit apart, get at and test the on/off switch, and replace it if need-be. Dco5 burning smell not working

Hi there, it's Jack at Dyson. If your DC05 is making a burning smell, it sounds like it may be the motor that's at fault. DC05 is one of our very oldest machines, and unfortunately since the start of 2015, we have no longer been able to support DC05 with spares or servicing due to its age. However we do have some discount offers available so DC05 owners can upgrade to the latest Dyson technology if they choose to do so. If you'd like to find out more or discuss your options with our experts, you're welcome to call us on 0800 298 0298 (UK), or 1800 239 766 (AU).

My dc 05 isnt working and i cant understand why ,

Most common cause of this problem is a wire broken inside the flex, usually either just where it leaves the plug (easy to fix) or at the other end (more of a problem). In either case, this is no reason to dump the machine - it can be fixed at a fraction of the cost of a new one.
If you need guidance on what to actually do about this, post a reply here, saying what country you are in please.

How to care for dyson dc05 filters

Hi there,For guidance on maintaining your DC05's filter, please take a look at the video below. We'd recommend washing the filter using cold water without detergent at least once every 3-6 months. Please make sure it's completely dry before replacing it - this may take up to 12 hours. The filter in the base is designed to last the lifetime of the machine, and should not require maintenance or replacement. Attempting to wash this is likely to cause damage, so we'd strongly advise against this.I hope this helps - if you'd like any further assistance or advice, please give us a call on 0800 298 0298. Our Helpline is available from 7am until 10pm, 7 days a week, and calls are free from UK landlines.Best wishes,JackDyson Online Customer Supporthttp://www.dyson.com
