Hello, this is Ava with Think Crucial. If the dust cup is too full, there is no space for the dirt to go when you are vacuuming. To fix this, remove the dust cup and empty the it. If your vacuum is still not picking up dirt after emptying the dust cup, there may be something blocking the airway. There are two places where you can check for a blockage: the dust cup air duct and the intake opening behind the brush roll. To check for a blockage in the dust cup air duct stand the vacuum upright and remove the dust cup. Now you can disconnect the super stretch hose and check for clogs in the air duct behind the dust cup. If that is not the case, to check for a clog near the roller brush lay the vacuum down. Next check the opening behind the brush roll for clogs. If there is debris, clean the opening with scissors, carefully cutting away any debris. Uncleaned filters may also the reason why your vacuum has lost suction. To clean the foam and felt filters, remove the dust cup and pull out the two filters that are on the top of the motor base. Rinse the filters with lukewarm water until the water is running clear. Let the filters dry fully before putting them back into the vacuum. If your vacuum is still not picking up dirt, you may need to replace it. Unfortunately, if none of the other solutions worked, your motor is going bad. Most of the time a new motor costs as much as the vacuum itself and it is not easy to replace the motor. It may be time for a new vacuum. The manual for the DC07 can be found here ( 500 Error Dyson ) (The PDF tag is saying 'Error Dyson', but it still seems to work in getting to the document) The most likely issue, under-documented for most Dyson uprights, is that the wand suction will *only* engage when the main handle is in the full upright position. In that position, the brush motor will also always stop spinning. I found this out after much wondering when I bought a DC07 at a flea market. Got a great deal when I plugged it in there and couldn't get the brush to spin, and the storage locker clear-out guy just wanted to get rid of it. That said, it's a common point of dodgy documentation for the upright Dysons, IMO. It could also be line blockage. Remove and check the U-Bend piece, remove the hose line (un-clip at the bottom and pull off), stretch it, and see if there are obstructions. My fave way to deal with blocks in there is to use a pair of pliers to bend a small, blunt U-hook in a wire coat hanger that's been bent into 'marshmallow-roaster' long-skinny shape, then go in carefully from the ends and see if you can hook stuff and pull it out. Some crumpled paper can be amazingly effective at tenaciously holding to the walls. Be careful to look through the stretched hose wall when doing this to make sure you don't hook the hose wall and tear it. Good Luck!

The Roter Pulley inside may be locked by some dust materials , Try to pull the Wire outside little more to avoid the dust materials in the pathway they it will go inside

You have to take the filter out and clean it White Vinegar usually gets rid of bad household smells If it's a H filter you need to replace those every couple of months

Hi, CLEANING BEHIND THE CYCLONE MESH 1. Detach the Cyclone and bin from the main body as you would when emptying. 2. Standing over a bin. empty the contents of the cyclone by pulling the bin flap release button upwards. 3. Whilst the flap is still down detach the bin from the cyclone by pushing up the button on the middle of the cyclone. 4. Sit the bin to the side as you dont need to use it. 5. Get a pair of pliers 6. Use the pliers to pull the fins from the bottom of the cyclone. 1 by one you will hear them click out of position. When you pull the 4th and final fin the baffle will detach and you will then be able to clean the baffle and also the cyclone.

The motor has a built in over-current trip to protect itself (and you if it seriously overheated and caught fire). This normally automatically resets itself, however if the motor has just about had it, the moment it is switched on, it just trips again.
It cannot be reset manually.

The primary cause of motors overheating is that the filters are not cleaned or replaced frequently enough. Dont be fooled by Dyson's "lifetime filters". They need to be regularly cleaned and replaced when necessary.

Replacement motors are available on eBay for about £25, however replacing one requires good DIY skills and tools.

Have a look at www.dysonmedic.com and see if you feel you can tackle it yourself. If not, take it to a repair shop or call the Dyson helpline.

Start with checking the cord and switch

Some cleaners are notoriously loud. Nature of the unit. Others are quieter.

Hi there SmartAlec from NelsonVacuums.com.au here. Unfortunately this machine does not have bearings that you can oil. You can replace the bearings that are in each end of the brush roller by removing the brush, taking the end caps off and pulling out the bearing and putting new ones in (size 625 from memory). The bearing in the motor however is sealed and cannot be replaced. This model is designed to have a motor replaced if the bearing is failing. I dont know if this is terribly good news for you but it is accurate.

without more information id say pull U shaped pipe off bottom and then re-install new hose at bottom then slide handle down into it snapping it in at top. if this doesn't help please feel free to respond with more info and maybe a pic

The belt that drives the roller may have broken and reqiures replacement. You need to take the cover off underneath and remove the roller.

sometimes debris can still be hidden in odd places. if you have access to compressied air you might carefully us it to blow out all the passageways that the air travels from the brush to the dirt holding area. make sure you dont have a filter that you missed when you replaced them. use low pressure air to blow out the system as high pressre air might damage a part of the system.is the motor running at the normal speed? if not you might try to find out why and fix that as well. as always never worksk on a vacuum that is plegged in. good luck.
