Dyson DC15 All Floors - The Ball Bagless Upright Cyclonic Vacuum - Page 9 Questions & Answers
My dyson vacuum brush bar will not rotate and the
I took the plate off and cleaned up the vacuum brush bar. Since the belt was not broke I knew that was not the problem. I know when the setting is bare floor, the brush bar will not rotate. That was not the problem. I just keep turning the knob from bare floor to carpet, several times. The setting must have been "off" just a bit because after several times turning it, it must have reset in the proper setting. The brush bar did start rotating just like normal.
The brush does not rotate
Hello, see if you can turn the roler by hand ( MAKE SURE VACCUME is OFF), if you cant turn it try checking that there isnt something caught up on either side of the roler. Sometimes things can get caught on the spindel at either side and it winds up fairly tightly. If this isnt the problem then eithr a drive belt has worn or broken, or a driver cog could be worn. If this is the case then you will need a technician to have a look for you. I hope this is of some use.
The main brush will not spin
I would guess the belt is broken. That happens often. Get a correct belt. Remove the brush roller. Wrap the belt around the roller and drive peg. Reasemble -- easier said than done, but keep trying.
It's as if it isn't plugged in at all.
Try a different electricity outlet first. If that doesn't solve the problem, more than likely it is the power switch which is not engaging. It could also be the motor but I doubt it since you probably did not see smoke or smell any burning smells. Call the Dyson Helpline, they will refer you to an authorized dealer in your area. The repair dealer will inspect the switch to see why it is not engaging and fix it for you. The dealer will also be able to fix or replace your motor if it turns out that it is the motor.
DC15 Animal brush motor not working?
Just had the same problem. Switches and motor checked ok, then found the circuit board on the left hand side of cleaner. The fuse (on the board) looked ok, but when removed and checked for continuity I found it had blown. The problem I have now found is that the fuse cannot be ordered only the complete board. Hope it gets the brush roller going again.
Suction
If the wand alone causes a suction loss, there are only a couple of issues:
If it is leakage, remedy the defect or install the wand correctly. If it is a blockage, you'll have to find and remove it.
Why doesnt my brush turn on when power is switched on
sounds like the belt is broken. Bad news regarding all Dyson's. You can't replace just the belt your self. You have to purchase a new belt assembly which includes the gears. And it wont be cheap. I would call it a design flaw but i am sure that dyson calls it a profit scheme.
Dont sunction when using.
The number to the Dyson company is behind your dirt canister. They should be able to help you over the phone.
Dyson dc15 just shut off.
Most likely your machine has a blockage, has overheated, and the thermal cutout has operated. This will reset itself when the machine cools, which can take an hour or more. Unfortunately Dysons tend to run hot anyway, so it doesn't take too much restriction of the airflow to cause this problem. Check for obstructions (including filter that may need washing) before anything else.
Good luck!
Loss of suction when using
u can remove the flexi pipe by pressing the inset button,it may be bit stiff if it had not being removed before.may be something is stuck at the bottom, also remove u bend where most of the stuff get stuck. i just posted how i fixed the suction and over heating problem. pl read it. good luck
Cord kinks up and the outer covering is starting to peal
Contact the manufacturer about the cord...you may have some kind of a defect. If they don't think so, you can replace the cord. You may use a quality extension cord with the unit. It should be rated at least 20 amps and be a 14 gauge or lower number.
Dyson Ball Vacuum
At the bottomor end of the wand there is a curve hose. That is removable. Pull the wand out all the way and turn that curved piece down. It slides out. There is a little channel. It should come right off. I've been there. Let me know if it helps.
