MAY SCSI CONNECTOR`S PIN PROBLEM IN FLATE BED SCANNER UNIT

Mine came with the same error message. If you look through the glass into the left front corner, you should see a spring loaded belt tensioner device. It merely hooks into the bottom plate against a spring to keep the belt tight. On my 5750C, the belt tensioner had slipped out of the base during shipping. The hardest part of inserting it back into the base was getting to it. Directions to do that are on this site at .../support/t484836-taking_apart_flatbed.

Hello, "EF error" in Fujitsu fi-5120c scanner refers to Background changeover unit failure. This error is detected in initial checking at power on. Probable causes: - Defective Control PCA - Insulation material damage of BW motor cable or the damage of the wire in the motor. Check the followings: 1.Does the same symptom occur after turning OFF and ON the scanner? 2.Are the cables between the Control PCA and the BW motor damaged? Or are the connectors connected correctly? Confirm the position of the BW motor and check the cables. 3.Is the CCD cable F or B damaged? Or are the connectors connected correctly? Hello Ismail, Error U1 referes to Frequent paper jam in Fujitsu fi-5650c scanner. In order to troubleshoot your scanner issue, you are advised to follow the steps provided below: 1. Do the documents satisfy the paper specification? 2. Have the documents been prepared properly? - Align the edge of documents for stable paper feeding. - Remove documents with creases or dog-ear corners. - Scanning different widths documents may cause skew and result in paper jam. 3. Is the imprinter EXT cable connected to the scanner properly? (only when the imprinter is installed) 4. Clean the Pick roller, the Separation roller, the Brake roller and the Chute roller and see if the error is resolved. 5. Clean the Feed rollers and the Plastic rollers and see if the error is resolved. 6. Replace the Pick roller, the Brake roller and the Chute roller, and see if the error is resolved. - Check the consumable counter in the software operation panel. When the counter exceeds the values, replace the Pick roller or the Brake roller. Hi, The error code EF displayed on your fi-5750c scanner front panel explains Background switching mechanism alarm. The probable causes are:- Background detection sensor connector disconnected.- Defective background detection sensor- BW motor connector disconnected, Defective BW motor- Defective background unit F- Defective background unit BYou are rceommended to visit nearest Fujitsu service station for rectification.Thanks & regards,ScanCare

First remove the electronics from the rear - 3 screws at top.
Under the black plastic is 3 screws per ADF hinge - remove. Lift ADF up from the base.
On each side is a screw that may be hidden under a black piece - slide it down and take out screws.
Remove screw from front left side. Remove 3 screws from top near glass.
Remove control panel by levering forward and up - disconnect cable. Remove screw underneath.
Lift top section straight up and off.

Azrael:You seem very familiar with this unit I have a couple of questions:1. Where can I get a parts and service manual?2. How do I separate the scanner from the flatbed, so the unit can be packed for shipping in two pieces, rather than the humungous and fragile 80-lb. unit it is now?Thanks in advance -- hope you get this message. -- Roy Zider

The back panel of the scanner should have a USB connection to the right of the SCSI ID selection switch (the farthest right on the back). Just get from any source a standard male/male A/B USB cable.
