I have the same issue, It just means to update the firmware. so far, i haven't got it to work after the firmware update. I laready replaced mainboard and scanner control board. lexmarp suggest to replaced the whole flatbed scanner.

The printer is in good working order if it displays the messages READY, BUSY, or POWER SAVER. Try the suggestions below if the beeping sounds persists.


The printer is indicating a "hardware failure" condition if it beeps THREE times, followed by a pause. The printer's display panel needs to display the precise fault message. Determine what the error message is trying to tell you and take the necessary action. Power off the printer and let it wait for a minute before turning it back on if you are unable to determine the precise fault situation from the panel.
