DSL routers don't need any firmware nor device-drivers.

Hi log into your router open Internet Explorer then enter the default Ip address Default IP: 192.168.1.1 Default Username: admin Default Password: admin once logged in you'll need to go to wifi settings you'll find what you need there. There's a lot of possiblities here.If you have a DSL/dialtone lineshare,listen for noise on the line(humming,crackling static,dropped calls).If you have a dry loop(DSL only),connect a phone in place of the modem and see if it has an "intercept" message(like "you have tried to call a number out of your service area" or something like that).If it does,you can use a phone to check the line when the DSL drops(don'touforget to put an inline filter on it).If the DSL light doesn't go out when the Internet light does,it is NOT a problem with the physical line.This would be an issue with the modem or the equipment at the serving end.( I am a DSL tech,and spend lots of wasted time diagnosing and trying to fix problems that are beyond my reach(central office server issue) or that I didn't need a dispatch for(it is cheaper to send a new modem than to send a tech).

Probably because your home network (by which I mean your modem/router) is not wireless (WiFi). That's also why you have to "wire" your laptop to your network with an Ethernet cable, instead of using it wirelessly.

You can find the details of the operator and the state they belong to .the operators wont reveal the address and name of any mobile numbers only higher officials can only get those information.

I am sure it is now toast and you cannot downgrade if the wrong firmware has been installed. I would ask D-Link.

try changing the channel number from auto to a channel number 2 or 3 higher than the lowest channel number.' do this by logging into the d-link dsl 2640

NO OS stated by you, at all. why:? page 3 is OS compat. after reset the default address is 192.168.0.10 5volt power pack is NOT OPTIONAL. 1998 what did you read the free manual yet. the last page shows printer compatibility list, does your match? where would you find a printer that old working now. crickets...??? my guess is 2003 year made. the manual is free , at dlink dot com you push the reset button for long time per manual 15sec (iirc) the release it and now all defaults are set. per the manual, google dir-655 manual. easy as pie if you just read the manual.
