I have the same situation. I use my Playstation or any DVD or BluRay player with the built in apps(almost all for last 5+ Years do). So it’s still on the TV, and if you buy one compatible with your equipment which usually means the same brand that you’re tv is, you can probably use the same remote. Good Luck, just pick up a cheap dvd or blu Ray player, a PlayStation 2/3/4 or Xbox/Xbox360/XboxOne works great too, or plug your phone directly into the TV and get a long cord to control it from the couch. turn it off, pull the plug wait 30 mins, then reinsert the plug and see if the thing starts working.

Please elaborate the 'not able to sign in'. What happen? Did you forget your password?

If you still see it as an available connection, then the signal is coming from some other device, and not the router that's in the drawer. A neighbor may have a device with the same name. Any laptop or phone is going to show all available connections whether you want to see them or not, so it's best to just ignore them and only connect to the router that you know is yours.
