Panasonic D-Snap SV-AV100 Camcorder. No picture on LCD screen

Just to check - give the manual a read through but I suspect this is a component failure and needs a repair job.

I purchased this camera from the US and I live in

Try to download them into a computer and see if the images are seen into it ...and if yes..burn them from computer cause I suspect just an incompatibility between the 2 devices and not a NTSC /PAL iaaue ..
even so ..into the computer you will be able to convert them into the kind you need.using Nero to burn ..or a converter ..

Camera will not come on

Try to use it firstly with AC adaptor(VSK0617) to understand that if it is working. The original battery pack (CGA-S302A) irreversibly loses approximately 20% capacity per year. So it is normal I think. Also, high charge levels and elevated temperatures (whether resulting from charging or being ambient) hasten permanent capacity loss for lithium-ion batteries. Think that shelf life+usage period+two years and other bad parameters decreases its life near 0.
As I said before,
Try to use the camera with its AC adaptor then change the batteries with new ones.
Hope that it will work.
This is the link of camera manual. May be you need to read the page 12.

IRIS STOPPED WORKING DARK INSSIDE AND FINE OUTSIDE WHEN FILMING CAN ANYBODY HELP?

Firstly with some thick cloth around it and with it switched on, give it a good bash with a rubber handled pair of pliers or something (looking from behind) on the right hand side corner near the mics.

the iris gets oil/grease from the zoom on it which makes the iris stick,

if your lucky a hard slap will free it but if not it will merely change its position and make the picture brighter or dimmer

MPEG4 motion video can be played back with Windows Media Player 6.4 or later. MPEG2 cannot be played back in Windows Media Player. Files created with our D-snap Video Cameras are designed for playback with the included MediaStage software and our DMR-E100H DVD Recorders.

Folders come up on my screen

The data on the SD Memory Card can be broken up into five separate folders (where applicable): [DCIM]: The images in this folder (e.g. IMGA0001.JPG) are recorded in the JPEG format. [MISC]: Files in which DPOF Data has been set to the image are in this folder. Slide show data created by SD-MovieStage Ver. 2.5 are also stored in this folder (e.g. AUTPLY0.MRK). [SD_AUDIO]: Stores music data files (e.g. AOB001.SA1) recorded by the SD-Jukebox Ver.4. [SD_VIDEO]: MPEG4 moving pictures are recorded in ASF format (e.g. MOL001.ASF). It can be played back with Windows Media Player 6.4 or later. [SD_VOICE]: Folder in which voice data files (e.g. MOB001.VM1) are stored.

S-SNAP AV100 Unable to open movie files on my pc.

MOD files should be viewable using MediaPlayer. I know at least with version 11. There's some chance though that you will need the codec, but don't you have this in the software CD supplied with the camera? If the camera transfers in MOD most chances that it's the best format to transfer on. Later you can convert it probably if you want. Good luck

PANASONIC D-SNAP SV 100

You need to upgrade the firmware, this will allow use of all cards that are fast enough if you are using a NTSC camera get it from http://zyvid.com/smf/index.php?topic=7.msg15#msg15 but if you are using a PAL camera let me know as I have a newer version than the one on the forum.
Be careful to download the right version there are three
Japan, USA and Europe
The Euro model is Pal and has no video in
the USA model has video in but no Japanese option in the language menu
