Sony Mavica MVC-CD1000 Digital Camera Questions & Answers
I have a Sony MVC-CD1000
Hi,
It seems optical laser lens is dirty/ got thin layer of dust on it and needs cleaning.
Open disc cover of camera, take out any disc inside, clean optical laser lens with good quality cotton swab/ bud gently in circle motion and check, does camera recognize disc now?
If problem still not solved then I'm afraid optical laser block seems defective and will be replaced.
Let me know if you have additional question.
Thanks.

You have to explain your problem or problems.
I have at lease 1
Even if they were formatted you have to finalize the disks before you will be able to see them in another device..so if you have a disk that you shoot something on it and can not see it in a dvd ..try to insert it back in the camera and initiate the finalizing procedure...be sure the camera is on the charger during the operation and not on the accumulators ..cause if it stops during the process it is damaged for good..
Can not down load my photos to my PC
But CDRoller (CDRoller.com) for $39.00. It will allow you to put your unfinalized CD in your PC drive, open it and copy pictures to your PC. When it is done your disc is still unfinalized so you can put it back into your camera and continue to take pictures.

It seems like the only solution is to find a "disc recovery" program to pull the pictures off the CD. I found and bought ($39.00) the program CDRoller. Although it is designed to recover problem files I found it sees the pictures and allows you to move them to your PC hard drive. Take the unfinalized CD, put it in you CD drive and run CDRoller. It finds the DCIM folder. You can open it to get the folder that contains the pictures. Open it and all of your picture file names are displayed. You can select all and do a save. It will ask you where you want to save them and define the folder on your PC. When the save is done your pictures are on the PC and your disc is still unfinalized so you can put it back into your camera and continue to take pictures.
CDR question
CDR is a one use disk
CDRW is a rewritable disk
It's not the drive that determines whether or not you can re-write a disk, it's the media itself.
Get yourself some CDRW's

I can help You!
(Only) this Version of DirectCD 5.3.1.154 is part of Roxio's Easy CD Creator 5.3.1.154 and works with nearly all CD-Drives even with SONY's MVC-CD1000 in Windows XP (Home) and also in mix with Nero's InCD! It is 72MB large uncompressed.

I've had some errors on my discs. What I've found is after you finalize them, if there is still room on the disc you can initialize then and use the empty space still on them. This can also fix some error, and I don't know why.
