Sony cyber-shot DSC-N1 won't download photos into computer. Camera says no file

See if the file is on the memory card to localize the issue. If not on card then camera is not recording the image. Try another memory card to see if that one works. Let's hope that the issue is with the memory card and not the camera electronics. If it is the latter you might want to think about doing some shopping since repairs on those things, unless a multi thousand dollar camera, are not cost effective.

I d need to get a larger memory car for this

4G is huge for an older camera like this. Are you sure you want 4GB of storage? May not even take anything larger than 1GB, look up specs and find max memory stick size.

My Sony DSC-W190 camera constantly

First of all, check that your iso settings are normal, and that you have the camera in normal settings (not night scenarios). It sounds like the shutter is sticking slightly. Dust, dirt, lint, and sand can get in the lens assembly and wreak havoc with the workings. Try blowing it out good, with the lens extended, with a can of compressed air ($4 at Walmart). If that doesn't help, it will need servicing. Take it into a local camera repair shop, and get an estimate first- it can run a few bucks.
You might also contact Sony to see what they can do for you:

Good luck, and hope this helps.

My lense is out on

Hello

The problem is that the lens has become stuck in the barrel. There are some DIY solutions you could try, but the probability is that you will have to get it fixed by a professional.

Use these at own risk as it may further damage the camera.

Firstly , try connecting your ac adapter or usb cable.

Try holding the shutter button while switching on the camera.

Look at the lens , and if some of the lens 'circles' is misaligned or not concentric then try wiggling it (while holding camera lens down).

Try gently pushing or pulling the lens when it extends but this is risky as it may cause the lens barrel to slip out of its guidance system.

Another way to do this is to place the camera lens down on a hard surface and then power it up. Be sure to use a soft cloth or something similar as to not scratch your lens or casing. Let the lens push the camera up and down a few times and sometimes the little resistance provided by the camera is enough to get things going again.

Try hitting your camera near the lens on the body with the soft tissue on the palm of your hand.

Other than that , I would take the camera to a repair center for a evaluation to see if it would cost more to repair than to replace the camera.

If it is still under warranty I would suggest you take it in before trying any of these steps and remove any off-brand batteries or accessories as some stores are really fussy about warranty repairs on camera's with non-brand accessories.

You can also have a look at THIS link.

Hope the advise is useful. please do not hesitate to let me know if you need any further assistance.

Regards
Andrea

I was using my Cyber-shot

Hi Mjmarcos,

Thanks for using Fixya.

This is to inform you the rain water shorted the circuit inside the camera as water is a good conductor of electricity.
You will need to take it to a service station to get it dried and to get it checked to see which parts in the circuit have got burned.
Don't try to power it on as it might damage the camera.
Good luck and have a nice day.

I need a new battery.model #NP-FC11. Where do I

List price for this battery is about $45. You can find it cheaper at some stores such as Batteries Plus and online at Amazon.com. Try a google search for "NPFC11 Battery" or "DSC-P8 Battery" for additional places to check out. Don't forget eBay, too. See links below for Batteries Plau and Amazon.com

The battery is available from most Batteries Plus Stores at :

http://www.batteriesplus.com/p-28215-sony-digital-camera-li-ion-battery.aspx

Amazon.com has a new battery in stock for $38.96 and used from $6. I'd stay away from used batteries as the amount of life left in them is questionable.

Good luck!

My camera got wet!!

If water did get into the camera then your going to have many issues and since it might have been saltwater, your camera is probably history. Don't forget to save the memory card.

Cybershot DSC-P8/P10/P12 problem

The camera may have encounter some damage on that incidenst , what you can try first here is to remove the battery for about 24 hours and after that check if you still ahve teh same problem, but if you're concern in transferring photos to your computer you can still do that using a card reader where you can put the memory card and conenct to the computer....

Won't turn on

Looks like its time for the repair shop. Once these gears get fried up for real, they need to all be pulled out. It needs to be sent in. Just like a clicking hard drive, having to manually do anything on a digital point and shoot is a bad sign! Hope this helps!!!

Go to the web site of your computer. Say maybe HP and type in your product and download the driver. If it's a external driver go to their website. or just check if there are driver updates.
