LCD Display is black when the camera is on.

Only folks...I just opened the back of the CCD by removing 5 small screws. I popped the cover, carefully. The reason I am doing this is becuase my LCd screen was not working, yet the camera still funcitioned as if the LCD was. Guess what, the flat cable that controls the LCd had come loose from use and time from under the clamp. Simple fix. Plugged the flat cable back in, and wala, back in action. This may solve some problems with the display being black. Check the connections under the cover. easy to remove. Silverwolf

Is there anyway to recover pictures off of a disc on a sony mcv-cd500? I could view them on the camera but when I was downloading to the computer they did not all download. Please help

Have you check other folder yet? Maybe you save in other space when you downloaded but you did not notice. However, if you can not find any copy in your computer, it won't hurt to try to use recovery tool, such as Recuva, easyrecover, which are free, but I can not guarantee they can recover all data, maybe you can learn more here:How to recover pictures from hard drive

Sony Mavica MVC CD500

It comes that Disk not being recognized. I had the same camera before. You need to use good quality CDRs or CD-RWs. Usually Sony Mavica disks best with that camera. Maybe you cannot find Mavica in market then go for Sony, Philips, Imation miniCDR/W. also keep the lens of the internal CD writer clean. If you need further assistance please post your question

Good Luck

When taking pictures there is

Hi,

The term for an out-of-focus purple "ghost" image on a photograph is "Purple Fringing."

This is fairly common in Digital Photography.

In order to minimize instances of purple fringing you may incorporate the following:
Avoid shooting with big aperture (Small /f number) in high contrast compositions.
Avoid overexposing highlights (e.g. bright sky behind dark objects).
Shoot with a UV/Skylight Filter or a Circular Polarizing Filter. These protect the lens and also help to Get bluer skies and cut glare off reflective objects.
You could also use Post-processing to remove purple fringing by scaling the fringed color channel. This can be done in an image editor like Photoshop.

These suggestions will help in minimizing the instances of color displacement for you.
I will look forward to your feedback and positive rating.

No picture in view screen

These camera's often have a power saving option that allows you to work with just the view finder, leaving the screen switched off. All makes the battery last longer. Check your instructions, see if the menu has the monitor set to off.

Hi hmlee, and thank you for your help. A few more

hmmm .. when it was dropped it might have bent the spring contact that connects to the battery terminals when its plugged in .. you might be able to see that with a small flashlight inside the camera . you hope not but it could have broken the plastic that holds that contact .. if its just bent you can carefully rebend the spring so that it makes good contact . there is also the possibility that the new battery is discharged below the threshold where the charger will start .. thats a safety feature on some chargers .. if the voltage gets too low then it wont initiate charge .. that could cause overheating in old damaged batteries . if that is the case then you can "jump start the battery" .. to give it enough charge to allow the charger to take over .. its not a safe thing to do if you are not a bit skilled with electricity .. but you can jump a standard 9 volt battery across your new battery for a few seconds (10 or 20 seconds should be enough .... you must make absolutly certain that the + and - termanals match . if you hook it up backward then you can damage the new battery .. once the battery has gotten a little charge then when you hook it up to your charger it should take over and fully charge the battery .. fresh replacement batterys come with enough charge but if they are in stock for a long time they might be delivered discharged .. you can check them if you know anyone with a volt meter .. it should read 7.2 volts .. if it read above 5 volts then you probably dont need the jump start .. less than than that you do .. if you dont feel comfortable doing these things then you might look to see if there is a Ham radio operator in your neighborhood .. or maybe an electrician or TV service shop ...

Hi my battery won't charge on my Sony

the charge light flashing means the battery is damaged or very dead .. some charger will not initiate charging if the voltage gets too low ..thats a safety feature ... if those are the original batteries then they are past due for replacement anyhow ..
