Manual available

Sony only will sell repair manuals to repair centres, they (Sony) have certified. S I don't think it will be possible to get one on the net. I wish you luck with the search. Only open electronic equipment after you have the manual, after you have the right tools and spare parts an when you have the right skills. If one of the former fails, it is possible you end with pieces of equipment that never will look or work like a camera. Just saying.

Hi guys... I'm having the

Sorry to say that Sony stopped repairing the faulty CCD's that were installed in their cameras for free two years ago. No matter what they told you, they DO know about it, as it is a well known issue (Sony actually produced the faulty CCD's that were installed not only in their cameras, but also in many of their competitors). And I do concur with your displeasure, as I similarly have a now useless Sony camera with the same CCD issue (cost a pretty penny too). And as you've noted Canon continues to repair their cameras with this issue, although they have started phasing out this repair for some of the older models. All I can say is, remember this the next time you're in the market for purchasing a camera. Definitely let it influence your decision. It did me (Canon, there is no substitute! ;-)

Its 2011 and my sony

Try a reset, take the battery out hold the power button down for 30 sec. then reinstall the battery. If that does not correct the problem the CCD chip has probably gone bad. Sony does not service the T-33 any longer. You will need to find another source to work on it. That is what I am in the processes of doing right now.

Pictures have lines thru them

How is the live view? Is that ok? If there is no lines in the live view, the problem is in the memory card. It maybe damaged. If this cam has internal memory, try taking shots in it so that we can confirm.

My camera is sick.

The iris may be shut closed or the CCD is bad. If the iris is shut closed, it's probably due to moisture preventing it from opening - keep it in a dry environment for a few days to let it dry. However, if the CCD is bad, then you'll need to take it to a repair shop and have the CCD replaced.

My steady shot DSC-320 IS

Hello

The problem is that the lens has become stuck in the barrel. There are some DIY solutions you could try, but the probability is that you will have to get it fixed by a professional.

Use these at own risk as it may further damage the camera.

Firstly , try connecting your ac adapter or usb cable.

Try holding the shutter button while switching on the camera.

Look at the lens , and if some of the lens 'circles' is misaligned or not concentric then try wiggling it (while holding camera lens down).

Try gently pushing or pulling the lens when it extends but this is risky as it may cause the lens barrel to slip out of its guidance system.

Another way to do this is to place the camera lens down on a hard surface and then power it up. Be sure to use a soft cloth or something similar as to not scratch your lens or casing. Let the lens push the camera up and down a few times and sometimes the little resistance provided by the camera is enough to get things going again.

Try hitting your camera near the lens on the body with the soft tissue on the palm of your hand.

Other than that , I would take the camera to a repair center for a evaluation to see if it would cost more to repair than to replace the camera.

If it is still under warranty I would suggest you take it in before trying any of these steps and remove any off-brand batteries or accessories as some stores are really fussy about warranty repairs on camera's with non-brand accessories.

Hope the advise is useful. Please do not hesitate to let me know if you need any further assistance.

Regards
Andrea
