Forgot password what to do
If you forgot the password to your network, simply give your internet service provider a call. They should have a 24 hour hotline for situations like this.

Default admin password
- Enter your user name. If you didn't change the user name during installation, enter admin in theUser Name field. [Show Me]
- Enter the password you entered during installation and click OK. Additional characters will appear to be inserted as you enter your password. This is designed to hide the number of characters in your password.
- Note: If you didn't change the default password when you set up your router, it may have been changed to your router's serial number to provide greater security. You can find your router's serial number on a label affixed to the bottom or back of your router.
- Note: If you can't remember your user name or password, you must reset your Verizon MI424WR router to the default settings and reconfigure your home network.

Can't find WPS button on router?
Wrong question and the answer is a bit more complicated than I can just
type here, First the WPS is a fancy feature that I will not Google to find out about, second if you have a wireless printer and you want to configure it for a network you must have a wireless router. so if you do not have this then you will need to connect your printer (using USB) directly to your computer.

I cannot access the ip
it will be very uncommon for router to have .0.2 address by default. try to access it at 192.168.0.1 or 192.168.0.254
for that exact model the default is 192.168.0.1 as stated in the manual.
you can check that very easy, open command prompt (Start Menu -> Run -> type "cmd" then press Enter), type "ipconfig" and press Enter. the Gateway address will be listed (under your ip and netmask)
this is the user manual for more details on the device.

Which # on the bottom
The WEP encryption key is setup by the user, it is not a fixed key.
Theencryption key secures your data from unauthorized access.
The router's password is a Passphrase or the WEP or WPA orWPA2 encryption key.
The Passphrase generates the WEP or WPA or WPA2 encryptionkey and this is in the router's wireless settings.
To connect to your wireless router, configure the router'swireless settings ie SSID, plus the WPAor WPA2 encryption key and then configure wireless cards in the laptops and orcomputers with these router's wireless settings. Then the laptops and desktopcomputers can communicate with your wireless router.

I have an actiontec gt704wg
unfortunately, no. You would be better off Ebaying the actiontec and getting a dedicated router- the reason is that the only uplink on the actiontec is the dsl port- not ethernet. Theoretically you could mod the firmware to make the wireless an access point only- but it would still have the achilles heel of needing an uplink. I’m happy to help further over the phone at
