check the board for blown capacitors. I have found many boards from power circuits to motherboard with popped capacitors over the past 5 or so years. replace them and tada, it lives again. I've been successful several times with this operation. Please see the picture below for a guide to finding bad caps.

Draw where all the plugs are and mark, then do the reverse on the new motherboard.

need to know if using board or card first if card go get updates if board the same with motherboard

go one the website for that brand but if the motherboard doesn`t have the drivers on your laptop it may not even work so you might have to go on another computer and go on the website for your motherboard brand and download the driver but if it asks you to run or save click save then my computer and put a disc in your disc drive and save it to that disc because if you click run it will put it on the computer you are on and it might stuff it up so make sure you save it to a disc and then turn on your laptop and as quickly as you can push the button to open the disc drive and put the disc in and it should run the driver on the laptop and it will startup fine the once logged in open my computer and open the disc drive and click and drag the driver or folder into your computers desktop where you have all your icons and put it in the corner or something and tottaly forget it`s there or you could make a folder called computer componetnts drivers don`t delete or something

Use the right mouse button over the Windows icon if in Win 8 or go to the Control Panel with any version. Get to the Device Manager. Open it. Look for the separate options and locate Sound. Check for Update. If updated, then go to the Desktop screen, lower right Speaker Icon to see if the Sound function is working. Check the options as to what speakers are active. If no speakers show up, you need to set the option to activate the speakers you are using. If necessary, use the HELP Menu.
