  1. Shut down your computer, and then remove all the Peripheral Component Interconnect (PCI) devices.Restart your computer. If Windows starts successfully, shut down your computer, and then reinstall the PCI devices one at a time. Start Windows after the installation of each device. When you install a device that causes the issue that is described in the "Symptoms" section, remove that device, and then continue to install the other PCI devices.
  2. If Windows does not start successfully, remove one or more of the memory modules(RAM) that are installed in your computer. Leave sufficient RAM for your computer to start and run Windows XP.

Your machine is rebooting itself while you watch a movie on it? Could be a couple of things. First, is this a laptop or desktop? When is the last time you updated your video drivers? If this is a laptop, does it get very hot just before rebooting?

Theories work like so:
1. older video drivers can be causing a cpu panic condition due to a bug. This is more common with PC games vs. watching movies, but still possible. Updating your video drivers may help fix the problem if that's the cause.
2. heat: if the computer overheats, it will reboot to protect itself. As for why it's getting hot--could be that your video hardware or cpu is getting too hot playing the movie. Could be that your cooling fans are bad. This is why I asked about the machine getting hot.

Another possibility is the need to update either your BIOS or hardware drivers.

Please post more info if you require additional help.

dell has a good deal on a studio desktop pc Core 2 duo quad core but even without the monitor its 550, then you have to add a good video card, integrated cards are garbage and so is intel, so the good ones are anout $100-300 intel and amd

to keep cost down you could also go with a core 2 duo (dual core) but stay away from celerons they **** for gaming
check staples/office max/best buy/circuit city or dell dot com for good deals

some dell studio's are slim desktops and unless you get a video card from dell they can be hard to find(near impossible)

made 2006 so is 13 years old. (not worth anything)
incomplete model stated, x50GL-AP155C and lots more ?
NO DASH code in model stated by you, and are different spec.

Cheap PCs like this have no full list of certified CPU, ok?
you ask us and not ASUS.com sure, they do not have forum now. they deleted it. (sad no, zero support real unless $$$ gaming PC)
first is the watts thing if you use a too high wattage CPU it fails.
then the chip set rules. (horrid chip nForce 730i ) super bad chip for support.
the bios allowance rules.
no reasons stated at all, what run slow, ?
99% of the time this will not cure slow in PC that is slow.

some version of the PC had the T5800

I see you posted on TOMHardware and refuse to believe them.
they did not lie to you, I see that.
you said you are not a gamer but did not say what was slow there too. why?
the SDD would be the only best choice, for non gamer.
your 1GB or DDR ram is also pathetic. 4 max nets you about 3.5GB actual.
a new SSD will make clicks faster the first thing to notice
is control panel pops up instantly not in 5 long seconds, .

first off nobody today hot rods PCs this old, what is the point
in putting big case on relic PCs/ ,just use the money get better used PC there are no lack of used cheap PCs. ok.
why not just try your choices, of CPU, spend money and try it.
after all even the wrong BIOS it can fail, so whats the change anyone here has this PC and same bios .? zero>
one poster said this works T9550
searching is amazing no,, learn to search the web?> ever?

Haier a600 laptop
first off what in the world is Haire, ? not sold here in uSA.
posted to USA computers, so.... but you said LAPTOP:...
also your internal speakers are bad, buy externals use that.
if you plug in ear bugs or real headphones to any laptop
3.5mm round phone plug on side of the laptop and those sound ok then that proves the internal speakers are bad, some get wet and fail. or rot out. (paper speaker cones)
when I google Haier a600 laptop
it shows cell phone why?
and you posted to intel. so my guess is you have a laptop
but you are confused to who made it, and true model name.
here is the HAIER web site, can you find your PC there?

it says buy them in India, are you there?, if yes why ask USA yankee's about PC only sold there. (or Pakistan)
we don't have them here.
next time buy a Dell.com PC.

but do contact them and get help. their support seem weak.
