My apc back ups es 650 has a continous chirp what doe that mean?
the chirp means a power event has occurred and the unit needs reset to continue operation , power events can be a few things ( to large a current was applied as a load to it , the power stayed off till battery failed and it had to charge it back up when power comes back on )

Need new batteries probably as batteries may have developed high internal resistance.
Test the batteries one at a time whether they would light up a car headlamp bulb.

Check the battery in your UPS - it's most likely going bad and you will need to replace it.

My 500-A Ups is making Buzzing sound.
APC 500VA ups meant for 1 Desktop and one montiro it will have battery backup for 10 to 15 minutes for the above.
Normally, You should make the raw power connected to UPS should be always ON.
The power cables of CPU and Monitor is connected with UPS. When not in use, please press the Button available on the UPS.
The UPS Life is normally 2 to 3 Years only. Now you are getting the sound and Red Light will always blink and not allow to use the system.
Better replace the 12 Vols battery to get some more life for the UPS.
And check for any loose connection of the power cables connected with Raw Power and UPS System.
What is the problem of
short circuit may be happen to your UPS. try to open your UPS and look for the short circuit or try to call a electronics service technician... :))
My ups cannot power on
For BE500 the switch is a common problem, try to check the switch first, then the battery.
APC BACK-UPS ES 500VA fails to provide back up during power failure
Get APC Powerchute Personal Edition for free and run it. If it says your battery isnt charged, check its voltage disconnected. Charge it with a car battery charger and see if its still a good battery. If not , replace it. If the battery is good, then check the charging voltage. Should be about 14 volts. if not, check the small transformer on the main board. Should be 120 in and 17 to 18 out. 4 diodes in a bridge for charge. The input to the transf has small fuse into it alone.
