How do I install Lexmark X5150 in English for windows 7?
There is a bit of a problem with this printer. Lexmark are not supporting it under Windows 7. If you attach the printer via USB Windows might be persuaded to look for a driver for you. This would get basic functionality going if it works. Use the link Brett Duxbury has given. Some things you could try are the Vista drivers and then the XP drivers. Even if it does come up as a scanner you will have to use the Windows built in scanning software and not the Lexmark one. In all seriousness give this printer to an XP user and go and buy a non-lexmark printer.
It prints but doesn't scan to vaio laptop
You need the Lexmark CD which has the scanner software. If Windows 7 downloaded the print drivers automatically rather than you using a CD to make the printer work then this is why it prints but you have no scanning. You maybe able to download the CD software but it's usually better with Lexmark to never lose the CD.
Printer malfunction
2 possible soultions,
1. The color required to print the text ( ie: black or a variation of ) may have run out and needs to be refilled or replaced.
2. The other way that could help, is to select only the text you wish to print, by highlighting the entire text of the email, and then press and hold Ctrl while you press P to bring up printing shortcut menu and then check the "Print selected only" before attempting to print.
This should give you only the selected text, but if your black or the color required to print is empty, it may appear blank on the page, or show a low ink error.
Prints but nothing is there
If it is printing, but there is nothing on the paper, it would lead me to believe that the print heads would require cleaning. Have you done maintenance on it recently? I do not think it would print if it were out of toner totally but perhaps that is an option also?
It will not print onto the paer
I don't know about Lexmark, but I know that with my own printer, the instructions say that if you are getting blank print-outs, try taking out each toner, give it a little tap/shake, then put in back in.
Lexmark 5650 all in one reads cartridge error
The
problem could be due to a communication failure between one of the printheads
(cartridges) and the All-In One (AIO) or by a short in one if the printheads. Please follow the steps
below to identify and fix cartridge issues:
- Make sure the printer is on.
- Open the printer cover. The
print cartridge carrier moves and stops at the loading position, unless
the All-In-One is busy. Note: If the carrier does not automatically move
to the center, turn off the printer or unplug the printer from the power
source and then carefully slide the carrier to the center.
- Remove both cartridges from the
carrier.
- Close the printer cover.
- Re-brick your printer by
pulling out the power supply - black box behind the printer where the
power cord is plugged in to, and re-plug after 30 seconds.
- When the printer turns on,
reinsert one cartridge first. Close the printer cover and check for any
errors.
- If no error appears, reinsert
the other cartridge. Close the printer cover.
- Replace whichever cartridge is
causing the error to appear with a new genuine Lexmark cartridge. Try to
print a document again to verify that the problem is fixed.
