Flashing message says: Cartridge error:

A "No communication" dialog appears when you try to print or scan.
What to do
If you are printing wirelessly, launch the printer's Wireless Setup Utility and follow the instructions.
If you are connected by USB or ethernet, try one or more of the following:

  • - Ensure the cable is secure at both ends.

  • - Disconnect the printer power suppy from the wall outlet, wait 10 seconds, and then reconnect it.

  • - Restart the computer.

  • - Make sure the correct port is selected in the Properties screen. To do this:

      1. Go to Start, Settings, Control Panel.

      2. Double-click on the Printers folder.

      3. Right-click on the printer icon and select Properties.

      4. In the Properties screen, click the Port tab.

Can i purchase a power cord for this printer and

Try this link (you don't say which country you're in)

http://www.codemicro.com/store/product/BP/21H0330/Refurbished

If it's not the AC adaptor you need but the power cord itself, then take the AC adaptor into any decent electrical /computer spares shop for them to see the socket type, then I'm sure they'll sort you out a suitable one.

Printer says cartridge error: error

Remove both ink cartridges and check the bottoms to be sure all of the tap is removed. Small pieces of tape frequently are stuck to the cartridge bottom causing errors. Confirm you have the correct cartridges (# 34 for Black(HIGHYIELD) and #33 for color). Reseat the cartridges and try again.

I HAVE AN ERROR 1203

1203 indicates a failure in the cartridge. If you have not replaced it with a new, Lexmark Branded cartridge, then that is step ONE. if a new cartridge has the same issue, the try cleaning the contacts on the cartridge and the cartridge tray with a clean pencil eraser.

2. Open the Lexmark Solution Center.

3. From the Maintenance tab, click Align to fix blurry edges.

4. Click Print.

Hope that helps.

We can't receive a fax!!!

You don't need to have a computer plugged in to the Lexmark printer to receive faxes. Here's an article on How to Configure the Lexmark X7170 to Receive Faxes. Just click on this link: http://bit.ly/d643uT. If you are sharing your home phone line with the fax and you have an answering machine on the same line, make sure to configure the answering machine to pick up first then the fax machine. Voicemail feature can also block incoming faxes. Once voicemail picks up the fax, signal won't be passed on to the printer. But if you want, you can also contact Lexmark technical support to further investigate the problem.

The printer won't turn on.

Try to unplug the power adapter from the printer. The power adapter is the rectangular black box behind the printer where the power cord is attached. Leave the power cord attached to it and the other end plugged in straight to the power outlet in the wall. Bypass any surge device or power strip. Wait at least 20 seconds before plugging it back in the printer. If the printer won't automatically power on, press the power button. If this doesn't help, I strongly suggest you contact Lexmark technical support to further investigate the problem. thanks.
