Can't connect wirelessly to a lexmark x4850

Try:
  1. write down the MAC address of your Lexmark,
  2. log into the router and reserve an IP address with that MAC
  3. Setup the Wireless parameters (SSID, Encryption to WPA or WPA2 Personal, assign a Pass Phrase you can remember. Then save the config and reset the router.
  4. on the Lexmark console, navigate to wireless settings and configure with the matching parameters as set in step 3.
  5. If the wireless connection is matched and connected, open up Internet Browser and type in the IP address in Step 2
  6. It should have a web-interface allowing you to customize it.
  7. Install the printer with the driver disc but should now look for a Networked option. or simply Add or Change the Port of your existing Printer's Properties.

Go Help this Premium Question its basic

The last Lexmark I saw with that "flushing buffer" message only required waiting for the message to clear. Sending commands to it will delay that. The thread was crowded and getting volatile so I don't think another voice would be helpful to the client. Steve also I have two computers I have to have ready by late morning

5. Remove the screws underneath the front cover (6 screws), back of printer (2 screws), and bottom of printer (1). View the images below to find where to remove the screws.

6. Flip the front cover open and gently lift the top of the printer cover. Keep front cover open.

7. Remove the ink cartridges out of their carriage.

Figure 6 - Displays ink cartridge carriage with ink cartridges removed.
Caution: Electrical hazard. Keep hand and metal pieces clear of board or any other electrical wires or parts.

NOTICE: The ink cartridges are all the way to one end. If the X4270 is plugged in, the cartridge carrier is stuck and doesn’t move. After further investigation a noticeable small black plastic lever is preventing the ink cartridges from moving. Photo below shows lever up and down (cartridges already moved in image below).

Figure 7 - Shows inside of X4270 and the lever that causes error #1200. Image on left displays lever up. Image on right displays lever down.

8. Push lever down clockwise so it is flush with plastic wall. Refer to image on right in Figure 6.

9. Lift the front cover open (if not already open) and plug in the X4270. Cartridges should move to center as if preparing for replacement.

10. Unplug the X4270 and remove power supply.

11. Remove bottom assembly carefully.

Figure 8 - Displays bottom assembly with lever and spring
Note: The cause of this problem is the spring slides out of place over time, probably because of ink shed on one end of its loop and loop attachment.

Figure 9 - Displays loop attachment

12. Place spring in loop attachment and use hot tip of heated tool to melt top of loop attachment to prevent further errors. Melt top of loop attachment similar of that to a mushroom top.

Figure 10 - Displays fix for jammed carriage.

13. Reattach the lever to the bottom assembly and slide back into place inside the X4270.

14. Plug in and check if operational.

15. Reassemble X4270 using steps 3-7.

It insists there is a Cartridge problem on the Printer............ In this Case take out the Paper from the Paper Feed Tray........ Unplug the Power Supply from the Printer.......... Remove both the Cartridges from the Printer.......... Now take a size 10 Envelope fold it so that it should become like a thin long strip........ Now Insert that Envelope on the left side corner of the Printer and move it from right to left and left to right as fast as u can for about 10 times.......... Now Insert the Ordinary Papers onto the Printer and insert both the catridges and Turn on the Printer...... Blinking Stopped...........Issue Resolved....... Still Blinking: Remove both the Cartridges take a Paper Towel turn the catridges direction so that u can see a Copper plate with small boxes on it....... Just wipe it twice or thrice with the Paper Towel.......... Now insert it and Power on the Printer and see whether the Lights are still blinking if it is still blinking...... Lexmark S405 isn't printing color when I just bought new cartridges.

Make sure that you're using genuine Lexmark cartridges. Also, check if the firmware of your printer is up to date. Just go to http://bit.ly/ghfW8H to download the firmware update.Performing a maintenance on the cartridges would also help. To do that, on the control panel of your printer, press on Setup > Maintenance > Deep Clean Printhead.
