My belkin G+ wireless router model: F5D9231-4 v2 security is lock and i cant log into my laptop

If you have forgotten the password, reset the Belkin by pushing and holding the reset button for 30 seconds or so and release, this will reset to default settings. Connect and reconfigure the SSID and Security Key. You may want to write down the password and store for future use. Belkin Support: http://www.belkin.com/us/support-article?rnId=6939

Where is the network security key

The network security key is set by the user when the home network is setup. It prevents people from stealing your wireless signal. If you have forgot it, or didn't set it up but it still is asking for one, you can unplug and hit the reset button on your router and delete the home network you have on your main computer. From there, just run the network setup wizard from the main pc and set your network security key to something you can remember as well as write it down. Then you should be set to add any other pc to your home network as long as when you try to connect, you put the correct key in.

You either have the SSID broadcast turned off or the routers name has been changed or the wireless card is disabled.

Kan I download an installation cd for belkin

Hi Mihaly,As a rule, you do not 'instal' a router and therefor do not ned a CD. All you need to do is connect it to a computer and use your web-browser to access the internals of the router in order to set it up for your broadband and to set the wifi etc.Check that router's IP address - it is sometimes on the bottom of the unit (along with the log-in name and password). If it is not there then check your network settings - that wil show you the router's IP address. it is generally one of these three - 192.168.0.1 or 192.168.1.1 or 192.168.1.254.Sometimes it will be different but those are the common addresses. For log-in and password, try admin and admin or admin and password (you never know). That's all you need (apart from your broadband user name and password - note - these are NOT the same as the router's log-in and password).

Restarting router

Hi,
There is a Pin Hole button behind the Router and if your press and hold that for at least 15-20 seconds this will set the Router back to Factory Defaults.
NOTE: this will remove any setting you have on the Router, make sure all details are known or noted before resetting.

With the router powered on, use a small thin object to press and hold the reset button for exactly seven seconds. The router lights will flash and this will restore the router to factory default. Connect your computer to one of the routers lan ports with an etherent cable. Open your web browser and navigate to 192.168.2.1. This should show the router status page with the default settings.

Had a Belkin router given

you do not need any software just find the default ip, admin username and admin password from this website: http://www.routerpasswords.com/
Plug a network cable from your computer's port to the number 1 on the Belkin router. Then plug a network cable from the port on the internet modem (that you use to connect to the internet) to the port on the Belkin router labelled LAN or WAN or INTERNET or ETHERNET.
Unplug both the router and the modem for ten seconds then plug them back in. Then with a paperclip hold down the reset button on the router for at least twenty seconds and press it a few times after (this is to hopefully initiate a factory reset).
Once the modem and the router and the computer are all on and connected to my specifications
type the default ip address you got from the website into the internet browser of the computer connected via network cable to the modem. It will ask you for a password and username and you should type the default ones that you got from the website listed above.
You will now have access to the page where you should select a "Wireless" tab and setup the name of the network as well as any security you will want. When you are done hit accept and your new network should be visible by machines with a wireless adapter. Cheers :)

Hello,
This might not actually be an issue. The 5ghz band is not available on a lot of devices. Unless your device says it supports 5ghz, you will not see it. All cell phones I know of, blackberry's, iphones, etc... use wireless G, or N 2.4ghz. New devices like HD streaming video players, media extenders, 2010-2011 MAC's and some new PC laptops support the 5ghz band. Your configuration screen shot looks fine. Verify that your devices support 5ghz.
My MAC book PRo 2011 supports 5ghz and so does my Asus Laptop. These two devices connect to the 5ghz and all my other devices, including my blackberry, connect to 2.4ghz.

Wireless g router f5d7231-4

ISP's have different requirements for connecting a router to their hardware. One required me to enter a static IP address, another requires acceptance of a dymanic IP address and a third uses dynamic IP addresses and requires a PPPoE logon from the router and a configuration change to their modem to switch it to a bridge, and a fourth I have read about require a reboot of their modem device to recognise changes in the MAC address (assigned to the network adapter) of the attached device (router). I am sure these are not all the variations possible, Requirements for router connections specifically the WAN side of the router are specific to your ISP. Often in their help or support areas they either have FAQ's or help pages to explain the requirements or an online technician available through chat who can tell you what is required. Often however it is up to you to be able to perform then necessary configuration tasks (especially on you hardware) to make this happen. I may be able to provide assistance of you identify you internet provider including local provider companies and geographic location (city / State) in some cases to determine their policies and requirements for attaching routers to their equipment.

I can't get a wifi connection on linux ubuntu

Ubuntu 10.10 for some reason made WIFI stop working you need to connect to the moden or router with a network cable and let ubuntu update itself. Best thing would be to update to ubuntu 11.04 which is the latest version.
Best to you!
