Hi all, I'm new to this wireless router thing, and I hope someone would help me out, as I have no clue why it doesn't work. The wireless router I got is
Belkin N wireless Router (F5D8233tw4)
Here is my situation, I have one desktop computer (Win XP) hook up direct to this wireless router, and this computer had no problem to get online.
I'm using this router to network one other notebook (Win Vista), and a Playstation 3. Before I set any security password, both of these devices can detect my Belkin router, and able to connect. However, once I add the password security in WPA within the Belkin software, then none of these devices can connect again. On my laptop, it's able to detect the router, but then it ask for Login ID and password, I use the password that I set on the router software WPA, and try the login ID with my SSID, my IP address and none of these work. What is the login ID on the notebook when connecting to the router?? Also, I try to make some changes on the Channel and SSID screen (change Bandwidth) on the Belkin software, but after the change, my SSID is no longer there, it will be missing even I try to add back myself later. I try the MAC Address filtering as an alternative security device, I add it under MAC Address Control page, I enter the Mac address and press Add, and there is no new address space for me to add another one? I thought I can add many MAC address allow? PLs help, as both myself and my wife would need to use the laptop and desktop for work, thanks!
there are several reasons why this happens. dont use belkins utility use windows utility it will ask you if you right click the icon in the tray.

i got the router yesterday, at first 192.168.1.1 , the ip was working. later on it started not working at all. so i cant set up the router and use the internet connection. I tried to change my ip,default gateway, dns but none of them solved the problem. if anyone helps me,i'll be glad. thank you
I am trying to set up my router using instructions from Virgin Media - Upgrade Your Telewest Wireless Router
I get the instruction - type the following into the "adress bar": 192.168.1.1
this should take me to a 'Blue Yonder' wireless home network setup screen, it doesn't instead I get a Google list
Any ideas ???
Try resetting the router, press the reset button at the back for 10 seconds, after that release the reset button and then unplug the power of the router, then wait for 10 seconds and then turn it back on.
After that try accessing the IP of the router 192.168.1.1 (if this did not work try 192.168.0.1,this varies on the model number of the router). Or follow the same steps you have done previously.

Where do I find this mystery number? I am trying to get my printer to work from my laptop using a Belkin Bluetooth Adapter (F8T012) and a Belkin Bluetooth Wireless USB Printer Adapter (F8T031). I keep getting an error message asking for this PIN number. Any help finding this number greatly appreciated!
Rich
The default pin numbers are 0000 (zeros) or 1234.
If I could be of further assistance, let me know. If this helps or solves the issue, please rate it.
Thanks, Joe

I have an MAC OSX 10.5 and Belkin FD7231-4. It does sees the router as a network but cannot log on to it. When I ran the network diagnostics, I get a message "Airport Settings Failed."
I am trying to install Belikin software but can't get pass it fails after checking the computer network settings.
I have a Mac Pro and a Belkin F5D 7230-4 Router. The Mac links to the WiFi but will not go on to the internet. The Router works fine with a wired PC and other wireless PCs. I have updated the Belkin with the latest Firmware but it does not help. I have tried powering down the Router and Modem

wireless router disconnects, regardless if its hardwired or wireless.
it requires that i reboot the router (unplug power) in order for it to re-set and gain connectivity. once connected - 10mins later the connection stops, and will not reconnect automatically; it requires unplugging power again.
Wireless feature is terrible, slow and drops frequently. i have searched for firmware, nothing! i have called tech support; only to be frustrated with no solution! i have changed static ip to dynamic and vice versa, changed channels, changed ssid, changed security etc... to no avail.
help!
You can get the latest firmware here:

I don't think that it is a problem with your IP address settings.
I would disable all security temporarily, just to see if that makes a difference.
If you are using Windows Vista, take a look at this post and see if that could be one of the underlying problems.
If you have any more questions, just come back here and leave a comment - I'm happy to help.

Added security recently, now cannot connect two machines. Tried to fix, but my router website says Duplicate Administrator. Why?? How to fix?? I cannot access my router via net.
this is because of the fact that your routers page was not logged out last time and now it shows duplicate administrator.
to remove this error please turn the power of your router off from at least 1 min and then turn it back on
Now open the webpage
and it will work
I ADVISE YOU TO PLEASE SET A PASSWORD TO YOUR ROUTER WEB PAGE
Thnx and i hope this helps
Please rate this solution

trying install belkin n150 router.setup router and cables as setup guide instructs.i run cd but programe will not find connection to router.i played with connections and it showes i use wan miniport pppoe.not lan
Try the following:
1. Make sure your PC is connected to the router directly and the LAN ports are lighting up
2. Reset the router
3. Reset the network adapter on your PC (or just restart the PC)
This should ensure that you are connecting on the LAN port.

My belkin router model F7D1301 v1 always says that there is a problem. I have rebooted it many times, power surged my modem and router and i clicked the "click here to fix" and nothing worked. Please help
Steps to setup Belkin wireless router f7d1301 v1 to a modem.
This is what I did on the phone when I spoke to technicalsupport for Belkin and it worked. I can't guarantee that this will work for youbut it's worth a try. If I missed any steps I am sorry.

How do you remove an ip address from the dhcp client list on a Belkin router?
DHCP Client list shows the list of devices currently connected to the Router
You cannot remove an IP Address of a device connected from this list ..
