Belkin F1DK102U 2-port KVM Switch Questions & Answers
Where can I can the drivers for the Belkin 2 port
Hi:
The Belkin 2 port KVM switch doesn't need drivers to work, it is simply a plug and play switch. You plug your keyboard, mouse and monitor into the control box, and your computers into the ends, and off you go. You toggle between computers with the switch button, and if you turn off one of the computers, it automatically swiches to the other one.
Belkin Switch Problem
no its not, sometimes that device or the port connection are not installed yet properly. To check it on the device manager, see to it that the connection on your Belkin Switch are functioning. Or try another port or USB connection, it might work there.
My Keyboard only works on one PC but the monitor and mouse works on both?
Plug the key board and mouse directly into the computer that doesn't work, let it recognize the hardware and then reboot. After reboot, plug the keyboard and mouse back into the KVM and reboot again. That solved the problem for me. Most likely, the computer that doesn't work has never loaded the driver for that key board and does not recognize the input sent from the KVM.
Can's switch without it switching back to first PC
Sadly, it is probably the KVM as this particular model has a string of failures and is only rated 2 out of 5 stars on Amazon due to poor performance. :(

What I would do first is plug in Computer 2 directly to the monitor, keyboard and mouse with no KVM. If those work fine, it is probably not a computer issue; if you don't get video here, then it is a seperate issue with that PC.
If Computer 2 is working, plug both computers into the KVM but switch the cables (plug Computer 1 into the KVM using Computer 2's cables). If Computer 2 shows up and can't switch to Computer 1, then it is the KVM messing up.
Switching
The switching software that you installed on your computer when you installed the KVM includes an optional setting called "scan" that can be set to automatically page between the two displays.
This is most often used when the device is used for network or server status monitoring. If you configured that to switch every one second I can see how that would be very annoying.
Check the configuration of the switching software to verify that the scan setting is turned off.

Should see a desktop icon for switching, and there is a update"switching software" @ belkin.com
Belkin KVM 2 port switch
Sounds like its not detecting video on the 2nd port. Have you tried switching the computer on port 1 to 2 yet? If the problem moves then I would suspect that computers video card or the cable that connects it to the KVM.
Let us know what happens or if you need more assistance.
Remember to check the cables!
For me this device kept doing the switching back and forth thingie until I noticed that one of the display cables was bit out of it's place.
Tightened the screws and Voilá!
All these things with lotsa wires on them... Always remember to check the cables!

Probably u need to install docking software, so it knows that it will be an external video and not the laptop display default.
Check with dell support for that software
Mtv music generator detecting directx 7
ok... so I've now installed this on my new pc that i built... first in order to get it to install at all you must download DirectX 7.0 and right click to "--(edit compatibility settings to windows 98/Me and run as administrator)--" remember this as well be doing it a few times. once you do that install DirectX 7.0 and say yes to all. now that this is installed take the .iso file you have and burn it to a cd or DVD-r, once burned you need to go to my computer and right click on the cd/DVD drive, select open (NOT open autoplay), inside the disc menu i want you to go to 2 files... "setup" and "start" need to also have their compatibility settings changed to the above settings. now that these are set stay in the cd menu and double click "setup" this will take you through the setup procedure. after the setup procedure is finished do not view the notes, and continue back to the desktop. now from your start menu load the game and it should run
