sw1 should hook to PWR, the first two horizontal pins in the back row, with the text on the connector facing you, sw2 should hook to RESET, the next two horizontal pins in the back row. You will probably want to hook jbat1 to the HDD indicator, which are the first two horizontal pins on the front row, facing you. All of these should go in the first block of pins.

One bad/faulty lead can cause a computer with lots of prolems replace all the leads that attach to your hard drive including electrical extensions + IDE,SATA and the ones that attach from your motherboard to hard drive make sure all leads that are attached to your drives dvd\cd 3 1/2 inch floppy have secure connections and are not faulty or just replace them they are probably old and faulty ? hope this helps

This sounds to me like you have a power supply problem. Anything that you added extra to your system,even a fan or cd drive can cause the system to shut down. You will have to get a more powerfull powersupply.

There could be many things that could stop the board from turning on, Determining if it works is like detective work. What I do, is take everything off the board to start. Then add the minimum to start a board to see if it will start. That's one drive (cd or otherwise) the CPU, and one bank of memory. (that's not a required eliminate, but it helps avoid beep codes) Also, make sure you have your pin's set on the board absolutely correct, or that could be your problem to begin with. Also, if your going to load a ide drive, make sure you set your pin setting correctly on it. Now, you should get the power supply on, and the cpu. If those don't power up, it's then either one of the five elements. The CPU, Power supply, Ram, Drive, or the motherboard. The next step is to replace each one of the first four to see if you get any change. If no change, then I usually get another board that I can test the first four, and make sure that they work. After that, then I say you have a DOA Board

this happens if the rams are of different frequencies have a check with the both the ram frequency ...
if they are different then remove 1 ram ....
& try increasing the virtual memory in the OS ...
if you are using the windows xp .. then to increase the virtual memory just go to
control panel >system>advanced>advanced>virtual memory settings>increase the virtual memory for the drive in which the os is installed ....
increase nearly to the double of the ram memory you use ....
