The speaker so you can hear BIOS Beep Codes.B) Pins 1, 3, and 5 are for a dual color Power On LED light.How to know what wires are what, coming from the Front Panel?Ease the Front panel loose, and follow the wires.You will see where the Power On wires connect to the Power On switch.(The Power On switch is located inside the Power On button assembly.This is a basic example of an ATX power on switch,http://www.directron.com/atxswitch.html )May be marked on the connector, for the wires that go to the Front Panel header, (JFP1) as PWR, or SW. The connector on the Harddrive activity LED wires, may be marked HDD, or HDD LED.Regards,joecoolvette

Had this system for awhile

http://www.xiew.com/product-detail/msi/kt4v-l/

A) Processor Socket:
Socket A (Also known as Socket 462)

B) Motherboard Chipset:

VIA KT400A

VIA KT400A Northbridge chip,
VIA VT8235 Southbridge chip

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_VIA_chipsets#Slot_A_and_Socket_A

[ Info reading across from the subheading KT400A, shows one, of two newer Southbridge chipsets could have been used.
The VT8237, or the VT8251.

Neither one was apparently used, or the website's info is mistaken ]

The Northbridge chip (VIA KT400A) will support;

A) Processors with no more than a 266MegaHertz Front Side Bus. (266MHz FSB)
It will support Processors with either a 200MHz FSB, or 266MHz FSB.

(AMD processors are 'double-pumped'. The 100MHz, and 133MHz FSB support shown, is 'double-pumped' to 200MHz, and 266MHz )

AMD Athlon XP with a 266MHz FSB, that fits in a Socket A processor socket, IMHO is the best.

[ To digress;

Chip and Chipset are slang terms to represent I.C.
Integrated Circuit,

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Integrated_circuit

The Northbridge chip is so aptly named, for one, because it sits on the North side of the motherboard. Looking at the motherboard as a map, the Processor sits due 'North'.
The white long PCI slots sit due 'South'.

{In the illustration of the MSI KT4V motherboard above in FixYa, turn the motherboard to the Left }

The Northbridge chip and the Southbridge chip is the Motherboard Chipset.

The Northbridge chip handles the faster capabilities of the computer.
The Southbridge chip handles the slower capabilities of the computer.

The Northbridge chip handles the Processor, Ram Memory, and High-speed graphics.

A graphics card inserted into a PCI slot is Not high-speed graphics.
Neither is Integrated Graphics.
{Integrated Graphics is also known as OnBoard graphics. ON the motherBOARD.
The GPU is soldered to the motherboard, not on a removable graphics card}

Motherboard Diagram, (That is for the technology used for the MSI KT4V motherboard.
Does not apply to motherboards supporting the Intel Core i3, i5, i7, and i9 processors),

http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/File:Motherboard_diagram.svg

The Northbridge chip is the motherboard chip to be concerned with, when deciding what Processors the motherboard will support.

Finding an AMD Athlon XP that fits in a Socket A processor socket, and has a maximum FSB of 266MegaHertz, is a wee tough.

In my recent search I have seen some advertised on Ebay. DO NOT know anything about them.
Here is an AMD Athlon MP 2000+,

http://www.weirdstuff.com/cgi-bin/item/13161

,that operates at a maximum of 1.67GigaHertz, and uses a 266MHz FSB.

Not advertising for the above website either, but I have dealt with them to great satisfaction.

Ive installed the ati his radeon ice q graphics

hook monitor cable back to your onboard video port then 1st make sure you have already downloaded the driver for your new graphics card. then at start up go into system setup and go to your display and make sure that you have your new graphics card enabled as your primary graphics instead of onboard video. it will say something like 1.Onboard 2. AGP/OR PCI MAKE SURE YOU DONT HAVE YOUR ONBOARD ENABLED AS YOUR PRIMARY VIDEO. AFTER THAT JUST SAVE AND EXIT THE JUST HOLD POWER BUTTON DOWN TILL PC SHUTS DOWN THEN SWITCH YOUR CABLE MONITOR CABLE FROM THE ONBOARD TO THE AGP/PCI CARD THEN RESTART YOUR PC. THEN YOUR PC WILL SAY FOUND NEW DATA AND WILL INSTALL THE DRIVER YOU HAVE DOWNLOADED FOR IT THEN YOU SHOULD BE OK IF THE CARD IS COMPATIBLE WITH THE MOTHERBOARD
