My aprilaire won't turn on,

You need either a sail switch or current sensing relay to turn the humidifier on and off when the blower motor turns on. They both accomplish the same thing but in differant ways, a sail switch senses the airflow in the return air duct and a current sensing relay senses the current from the blower motor.

When my aprilaire humidifier turns on it leaks

A couple of things to check would be, Is the seal around the drain tube connector leaking where it connects to the unit itself. Is it possible too much water flow into the unit. It sounds like you have covered all other options.

The change water panel light

I'm not an hvac guy, but I'll throw this in...is it possible that the relay contacts are welded closed, even though the relay has open coils? With all the power off, try to see if that's the case, and change it, but check everything ahead of the relay to make sure there's no short drawing excessive current.
Hope this helps.

The humidifier is not coming on. I am not getting

Hi,
If you have an electric meter which I hope is how you determined that there is no voltage to the controller.... check for power coming from the furnace to the humidifier....that should be 110v power... then go to the transformer for the humidifier and check for 24v power coming off of the secondary of the trnasformer...
For most furnaces the terminal for the humidifier will only be powered when the blower is running...

if you have 120 v power going to the transformer and no 24v power coming out of it then the transformer is bad...if there is no 120v poweer then the board is bad...

Hi,

That depends...
In mild weather you will want it at about 40% and then if it gets really cold where you are... like 0 or below then you will want to back it off to about 20%...

best gauge to tell is that is you are getting condensation on your windows then you have it too high...

you should have an upstream and a down stream sensor and maybe a remote sensor too. They could be the issue. Google aprilaire 760 humidifier installation instructions at aprilaire's site and see where and how many you have. It cold be the control module too. Try ehow.com too. good luck

When does the humidifier fan start? Does the water

Humidifier should be powered from the furnace heating 24 volt terminals through a humidistat and then to your humidifier. The fan and the water solenoid on the unit should come on together. if the water is not turned on the fan should still run, unless the unit is not plugged in.

Water does not deliver to the evaporator panel

3 things it can be, If the humidistat on the wall or installed in your return air ductwork by your furnace is not set high enough it may not be calling it on. set it higher until you here it click. If it is set high enough it should power a solenoid valve to send water to the panel. Solenoid may be bad. Make sure the water line feeding the humidifier is opened. Should be a small copper line from the 700 to a cold water pipe.

Aprilaire 700. It works

It appears your Aprilaire model 700 is wired to only operate when your HVAC fan is operated by your thermostat. Your HVAC installer can wire the humidifier control to operate the humidifier during a heat call, fan call or to turn on the fan when there is a need for humidification. Please contact your HVAC installer to have them change the wiring.

Have aprilaire #760 ,changed water panel, and

Typically, we find that the most common reason that you start to see leaking from the humidifier is that the water panel is not changed frequently enough. We do recommend that the water panel be changed once every humidifying season. We find a majority of our customers do this maintenance typically at the start of the humidifying season.

Here are the things to check when troubleshooting a power humidifier, which is leaking:

1.Position Of Unit On Plenum
Is the unit level (let to right)?
Is it plumb (front to back)?

2.Feed Tube
Is the Feed Tube tightened or is there a crack in the tube?

3.Position Of Scale control insert-
Is the base of the scale control insert sitting firmly in the drain spud at the base of the housing?
Does the bottom of the scale control insert have a taper to it to direct water to the drain spud?
Is the Scale control insert positioned correctly? The scale control insert has a front and a back. The back of the water distribution tray has an indentation in it to allow for clearance of the nozzle, which is attached to the top of the base. If reversed, and forced into place, the water distribution tray will break off the nozzle attached to the water feed tube and potentially the housing, causing water to leak

4.Water Panel Assembly-
Are there aluminum strands hanging out of the scale control insert?
Is there a gap between the top of the water panel and the water distribution tray for air to go through?
Is the colored dot on the water panel, up?
Is there a consistent coating on the Water panel, or are there shinny spots or clumps of coating?

5.Water Entrainment (Water Blowing out of the Humidifier)-
Are there signs of entrainment? Mineral build-up on fan blade, shroud, inside of cover?
Is the static pressure in the plenum over .4w.c.? If so, entrainment and leaking could occur.

6.Missing Orifice
If there is no orifice in the unit, the water entering the system could flood the panel. To check
for proper water flow, a quart jar should fill at the drain line in about 2 ½ minutes for a red or blue orifice, 5 minutes for a white or yellow orifice.

7.Drain line-
Is the drain line plugged?
Does it have a good downward slope?
Is it teed with any other drain lines?

If the above items do not resolve the existing leaking we would recommend contacting the customer service line at 800-334-6011 for further technical support.
