As you stated that your "have" installed the new RAM module. No RAM's are always plug and play modules, they need no software support, when you plug in a proper supported RAM. It is detected at the time of booting up. We need nothing to do. Just plug in the proper RAM, properly.

If your RAM is showing up the memory as previously, then there is some issue with either the module the slot or compatibility.
